SMG now playing

Non-Free SMG now playing 2.22

Perfect ! Thanks a lot ! :)

Edit : Oups... There is a problem, with clementine, when the music change, there is the message : "SMG reloaded - 2.06 by Azeirah" 10 sec or more before the title of the song :/

Hmm yeah, you're right, odd how that didn't show up during testing :o
There's not too much I can do to fix the core issue right now.

I did apply a small patch so it'll be a little bit better now, I suppose.
Problem is that for clementine, I'm looking for the text pattern of " - " of all your open windows.

SMG has "SMG reloa... - ...", so it fits the pattern as well. I blacklisted SMG for clementine, so that won't show up again, but I can't guarantee that other programs won't have " - " in their title.
I'm positive I can find a more robust identification method though, so this will issue will be properly handled in a future release.

For now, you can redownload v2.06, with the patch applied, it should be a little bit better.

Are there any prerequisites to this software? I seem to get these errors when running it: http://i.imgur.com/aGb71Ls.png

I have recently reformatted my drive so I had to reinstall the obvious things like java/.net/silverlight. But I can't seem to fix this, even after installing Python 3.4

Python actually isn't an smg dependency at all.
I haven't seen your error message before.

Smg has but one dependency, and that's the 32-bit microsoft visual C++ redistributable, which you can get here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

(I've confused myself, in a link, I saved a file for myself, explictly stating I should let users download 64-bit version instead of 32-bit, even though smg is distributed as a 32-bit application. Try 32-bit first, otherwise try this 64-bit version http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632)

Although, I doubt reinstalling that will solve your error.

I did some googling, and some people claim it's a bug with my packaging application. If installing the above distribution doesn't work, I'm going to build a custom smg package for you.

Thank you very much. Installing the 32-bit microsoft visual C++ redistributable seems to have done the job. I had the 64-bit installed as I assumed it went by os. All good now. <3

Google play is working fine for me in version 2.07, especially because I didn't change anything google play related between version 2.07 and 2.06. It does look like they've made a change (again) though, the groovemarklet isn't necessarily required right now it seems...

Can you try without it?

Hi, I have been getting this error since moving from the free SMG 1.63 beta to a paid license for 2.07

It happens the first time I open SMG.
If I then close it down and reload SMG it works fine

No idea what's causing it. 2.07 is in a new folder so its not a file conflict with the old version.

Hello. I would like to be able to format the text 'now playing' text file a bit to add spaces and perhaps add permanent words like 'Artist' and 'Song'

Any way you can get this working with fidelify?
Hey Zaelin. I took a look at fidelify, I like what they're trying to achieve, but unfortunately it s currently not possible to support their client. I would have made the necessary changes myself if it was open source, but it unfortunately isn t :(

Hey, unfortunately SMGs biggest strength is also its weakness. Because it supports such a large amount of different music players, it cannot support formatting. For most music players, it's not possible to split up the title into song title, artist and album.

I wish better formatting would be possible, but unfortunately it mostly isn't :(

Something is not working with the new version. I try to launch it, but it doesn't launch (doesn't show anything). Attaching exceptions log. (logging.txt doesn't show any stuff)
EDIT: By the way, tried to launch it twice - that's why it says everything twice. Fresh install.

EDIT 2: Regarding to post below - thank you, works fine now.

Hey sorry yes. I've fixed the issue by now. You can redownload smg v2.09 and it will work as intended.

Released a new version which adds support for two new music players

Changelog for SMG v2.10

* Added support for Last.fm
* Added support for nightbot song requests via beta.nightbot.tv

And as always, the download link

Would love it if this worked with DI.FM

Currently using VLC + SMG to display my music which isn't bad but using one program would be even better.
