Well if i set it to scrolling it doesn't cut off the text it just scrolls the whole thing.

I just looked at the OBS properties for text, (right click your text object -> properties)

There are two thing you can play around with, the 'Scroll Speed' property.
And checking the 'Custom Text Extents' box. You can set a specific width for the text.
And you can check wrap. This divides the text over multiple lines depending on what width and height you had set the 'Size' property to.

This should do the trick ^^

it's not working with vlc :(

i'm using last VLC version, i don't think i did anything wrong, whenever i play a vlc song your program says nothing is playing.
I tried winamp and it works fine !

Vlc has behaved oddly before, I'm not sure why it does what it does.
Could you send me a picture with vlc open and a song playing?
Also provide me with the log file (/logging/log.tx). If it's empty, don't bother.

all i can say is that i use an english version of windows, so in my start menu it says "VLC media player", but the software is in french.

Ah, yes. That's definitely the problem. I can generalize this problem for all languages.
I will fix this for the next update (the big update *dumdumdum*)

Any chance you could get this working with Rdio? I use it in lieu of spotify due to being in Canada and would love a now playing feature. It would be awesome if you were able to get it working with Rdio!

Done, patch will be out really soon. There's one small thing I need to fix. And if I can't manage to fix it, I'll release it without the fix and try to fix that later.

I should mention however the Rdio one doesn't grab a song it only grabs the current area you are playing. For example if I am playing Isreals Son from the Silverchair Frogstomp album it will say "Silverchair - Frogstomp" or if I was at the window for my collection it will say "Esoterikks collection" instead of "XXXX song"

Maybe I am using it incorrectly but I am dragging the link marked groovemarklet at this site http://www.league-insanity.tk/Azeirah_content/ to my bookmark bar, I am starting the song, clicking the script then clicking start in the program and it still shows up as "heavy roation" or "esoterikks collection".

Perhaps I am doing it wrong? I assumed it might be browser plugins after your reply so I tried it in chrome (I don't use plugins on chrome) and it's still doing it.

Second, do any of the other groovemarklet Apps work? (Eg pandora. Plug.DJ)

If after five seconds it still doesn't work, and other pages do work, then it's probably that I need to take a second look at rdio
If after five seconds it doesn't work and other pages also fail, please open up the JavaScript console (right click, inspect element, console in chrome) and send me whatever is in there after running my script for ~10 seconds.

Using Foobar2000, in current_song.txt, it says the artist & song name twice for some reason.

Ex: ) Playing Robosonic Remix.wav in Foobar2000, smg.exe writes the music details twice to current_song.txt

I literally have no idea why it's not working for you, it works for me on all computers I've tested it on (windows xp, windows vista, windows 7) It also works on firefox.
I can't find anything wrong with the code either.

There's one thing that might give me a clue (note the might). Do what you're supposed to do with the groovemarklet, open the console (right click -> inspect element -> Console) and take a picture/copy whatever is in there (if anything).

Ah yes, this is a little bug I should've seen coming. It might be there for some other players as well (most likely winamp). Will fix this for the next version.
