Sorry, I got a little question. Is this can be used on version 29.1.3?
Cause I have already installed the plug-in but no matter how I try. Its still can't work
Thanks

I use it here and it works fine. It's one of the few plugins, if not the only plugin, that works with 27.x.y (for which it was originally designed) along with 28.x.y and 29.x.y (for which it was not).

Curious, does the source type appear when you go to add it to a scene? Also, did you use a zip file or an installer? Did you use it on a normal, Steam or portable installation of OBS Studio? Are you adding the "Application Audio Output Capture" (this plugin) or "Application Audio Output (BETA)" (the plugin bundled with OBS Studio; please note that you can have both installed and use either one; they can coexist)?

If the type doesn't show up, this usually means improper installation of the plugin.

Hi Katt,

I apologize for the lack of fluency in my response.
Does the source type appear when you go to add it to a scene?
-> Yes. I also can choose what seesion I want to add. But it won't take effect.

did you use a zip file or an installer?
-> I download the installer here(https://obsproject.com/download).

Did you use it on a normal, Steam or portable installation of OBS Studio?
-> I use it on my own PC which just reinstall OS yesterday.

Are you adding the "Application Audio Output Capture" (this plugin) or "Application Audio Output (BETA)" (the plugin bundled with OBS Studio; please note that you can have both installed and use either one; they can coexist)?
-> I have already tested both captures, but none of them can be worked

Win-Capture-Audio v2.2.3-beta is an audio recording software in beta version. It allows users to capture audio from various sources on Windows systems.

Hi Katt,

I apologize for the lack of fluency in my response.
Does the source type appear when you go to add it to a scene?
-> Yes. I also can choose what seesion I want to add. But it won't take effect.

Did it get added to the list when you selected it and clicked "Add executable"?

did you use a zip file or an installer?
-> I download the installer here(https://obsproject.com/download).

Did you use it on a normal, Steam or portable installation of OBS Studio?
-> I use it on my own PC which just reinstall OS yesterday.

I meant are you using an installer you downloaded which installs to C:\Program Files\obs-studio or wherever, did you unpack a zip file of OBS Studio or did you use either Steam or the MS Store to install OBS Studio? Those play an important role as to how you install any plugins.

Are you adding the "Application Audio Output Capture" (this plugin) or "Application Audio Output (BETA)" (the plugin bundled with OBS Studio; please note that you can have both installed and use either one; they can coexist)?

That leads to a question I completely forget to ask, and this is very important:

Are you using Windows 10 or Windows 11? If Windows 10, which release of Windows 10? You MUST be running at least Windows 10 Release 2004 (a.k.a. Release 20H1) , with Release 20H2 being "strongly recommended". If you are running Windows 11, any release should work.

This is because there is an API that got added to all releases of Windows 11 which was also backported to Windows 10 Rel. 2004 and later which allows applications to capture audio directly from other applications.

Of course, I have clicked "Add executable"

I have downloaded it to C:\Program Files\obs-studio, except I can't use the capture, I already can stream

POSSIBLY, but I'd have to find some way of installing 21H2 in a VM to verify. It might have to do with the core version of OBS Studio, but I can't be sure.

It's a great pity that the author is no longer updating it. This plugin does not seem to support surround sound from the beginning.

Just curious, are you streaming, recording, or perhaps bits of both? Not much in terms of streaming necessarily has support for streaming (unless the encapsulated audio happens to carry it, and even then, I don't know if the platform in question necessarily has to INHERENTLY support streaming multichannel (i.e. more than two channels) sound.

In some countries there are no hard limits like YouTube. They don't do any transcoding of streams or files, so as long as your network and device support it, you can play it however you want. For example, surround sound can greatly enhance the ASMR experience.

Hello!

I am fairly new to this, but I downloaded the 64 bit about 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. The only thing is I have run into a few bumps in the road.

1. I play quite a bit of Valorant, and have made an audio source for that which works for my stream, where I can mute and unmute it on my stream. However, for some reason, the Voice-chat for in-game Valorant seems to not be registered to the Valorant audio. I tried trying to connect another application (possibly trying to see if there was a separate audio output I could create) but unfortunately there was nothing. I deleted and created the audio output again as well as making sure my Valorant in game audio was being sent to the create output. I am not sure if that is just a bug, or I am missing something... but if anyone has any ideas let me know!! Also sidenote, the voice chat for any other game works perfectly with the separate audio output.

2. When I am streaming, you cannot hear my alerts go off. I was looking back at my stream from the other night and noticed you could not hear the alerts audio, however while I was live I was able to hear it all. It is confusing because I tried to connect an additional audio output but am not sure what would be the correct audio to connect it to. If there is something I am missing let me know.

Thank you again for creating the software though. Other than those 2 things I really like it and enjoy being able to listen to non-copyrighted music and stream at the same time lol!

That's because Valorant's communications happens on a completely separate process, one without a window, which is what this release of the plugin is supposed to address. Instead of enumerating windows, it apparently walks process trees, looking for processes which are emitting audio so the plugin can capture it.

Someone here who plays Valorant will have to help you as I do not play it myself given its insanely overzealous anti-cheat software, Vanguard.

Before I continue, two things:

1. This has nothing to do with the plugin.
2. You do not want to connect any audio pipeline endpoint that doesn't need connecting.

With that out of the way...

If I may venture a guess, your alerts are browser sources, right? In my experience, most users' alerts are, whether from Streamlabs, StreamElements, OWN3D, Rainmaker, or whatever, are browser sources.

That said, this situation has NOTHING at all to do with the plugin if you're using browser sources. The OBS-bundled browser source plugin can send its audio DIRECTLY into OBS Studio's workflow, so there is no need to use any audio pipeline endpoint (examples being virtual audio cables, VoiceMeeter inputs or outputs).

What you need to do is open the properties for your browser-sourced alert boxes and make sure there's a check/tick in the "Control audio through OBS" checkbox/tickbox. That way the browser engine in each instance can send its audio into OBS's mixer, which will give you a slider for that source.

Thank you again for creating the software though. Other than those 2 things I really like it and enjoy being able to listen to non-copyrighted music and stream at the same time lol!

Actually, only one of the issues described here involves the plugin. The other is in the default OBS installation.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Hello, has anyone found a fix so that the audio is no longer distorted/shattered/crackling after +4 hours of streaming?
I have this issue since my first install on a totaly different setup. Still have it with new computer fresh install of obs (29.1.3) / windows 11

It's been said multiple times here that this is likely due to an issue with the Windows API that this plugin, along with the one that's bundled with OBS Studio 28.x.y and later, which both use to capture application audio directly.

The only party who can fix this issue is Microsoft.

What exactly is the problem you're experiencing? It'd be helpful to know so we can help you select a less-drastic way of resetting things if one is available.

However, my luck with the bundled plugin with OBS Studio has been spotty at best.
