Ah, hm, yea, that stream did not turn out so good. Seems like you're dropping tons of frames. So you say that test7 was better for your frame dropping issues?

Yup, test7 didn't have any frame dropping issues.

i was having the same issues with dropped frames but the new test10 drops nothing.

For me test10 drops pretty hard when using Game Capture. Not at all when using Screen capture.

is that stuttering only on the youtube vod? or did you just have dropped frames?

Notice: Test 7

Some stutter and video seems to come a bit late compared to sound.

Also tried with lower bitrate and had dropped frames. Live was around 5 mintes late at the end.

Also:
00:17 @ *: kry: your stream doesn't work with MPlayer, after 2-3 minutes of watching it gets ton of decoding errors and loops
00:17 @ *: same happens to QLRanks TV
00:17 @ *: never happened to any other stream

Re: Need feedback on a new version of game capture - updated

I again streamed for around 8 hours with the new build, a lot of people liked the quality of the stream and no stream issues were detected at all, maybe on some occasions the video frames on the streamed dropped to 22 but they get up quite fast to 30 again. My only question is, is it from the program that on every 2:47 hours or 1:47 it just cuts the video and starts a new one (even the stream dies for a couple of seconds)?
Here is the log:

Doesn't seem to work on World of Warcraft(WoW), it can't seem to ''capture'' WoW as a game and not appearing in the list.

Try starting OBS (As admin) after the game has been started

wow, that cursor bug is weird. sorry about that, I for some reason don't get that on my end, but I'll check to see what I can do to fix it.

Re: Need feedback on a new version of game capture - updated

Jim,

im not sure if this is asked yet, but will your game capture source offer automatic scene transitions?

for example: i'm on my desktop then load up a game. Will OBS capture my desktop then make the transition to my game?

This would be an awesome quality of life feature

it always captures your game screen, no matter what you're looking at.

With OBS version 0.447a and the version of game capture that is packaged with it, Starcraft II seems to crash whenever it receives focus, with its when you alt+tab, or when the game first loads.

Will you be adding Chroma key support to OBS anytime soon?

0.448a works great for me, except whenever my bandwidth is used by my brother (with limitations on at 1000kb/s down and 50 kb/s up on my 17/2.5 connection) i drop around 90% frames during that load. I still get a nice result on speedtests when I stream and my brother downloads but it's as if OBS downprioritizes itself or something. Something to look into.

Would it be technologically possible to enable the capture of the Mumble Overlay on top of games with Game Capture? This works with Dxtory, but not with Game Capture currently.

I haven't been able to use this feature much, or OBS for that matter due to some internet problems in my area preventing me from streaming. My problems should be sorted out today. I'll be able to tell you otherwise how it performs apart from what you already know with regards to Dark Souls and DSFix.

The game capture feature is giving me a black screen when trying to capture Natural Selection 2. Tried running NS2 in full screen and windowed and also starting both OBS and NS2 as administrator to no effect. captureHookLog.txt is:
Code:
D3D11 Present
D3D9 Present
GL Present

I have to take a look at natural selection 2, it seems to be one specific game that has certain issues.

I still have my free copy of the game, so if you let me know your steam name, I can send it to you (if you don't already have it).

BTW, love the program and can't wait till the game capture feature works with NS2.

Ninja Edit: A minor annoyance, but since NS2 is a 32-bit program, it requires me to run 32-bit OBS (though I'm on Win7 x64). Is it possible to run NS2 in the 64-bit OBS?

I think Jim said he will try to be able to capture 32bit game with the 64bit version of OBS with game capture.
Doesn't really matter anyway there is no huge difference between 32bit and 64bit.

64-bit OBS doesnt do anything different than the 32-bit version except for game capture, also ns2 definitely works in fullscreen+game capture, just not with fullscreen windowed at the moment. Dont add game capture as a global source or it wont rehook with ns2, try it like this: Start NS2 in fullscreen, tab out, add a new source as gamecapture with ns2, tab back in. it SHOULD show up, at least it does for me and some other people.

I know, but I do have a preference towards running 64bit software on my 64bit machine.

Just tried this method (and every variation of it I could think of) and still getting a black screen with the same appdata debug data.

Also, the game capture won't be useful to me if I can't use it in windowed mode. I'm constantly alt-tabbing while streaming to do things such as interact with the stream chat, change scenes, bring up browsers, adjusting sound volumes, etc such that windowed mode is a necessity.
