Re: Need feedback on a new version of game capture - updated

Yea, I've been playing AC1 lately myself and I noticed that it wasn't displaying an output. It's baffling though because I tested it with other D3D10 games and it was working fine. It's possible I might have missed something along the lines.

The other DX10 games may really be 10.1. 10.1 support in AC1 was patched out due to glitches supposedly.

Game capture (global source) is not showing cursor for a DirectX 9 game named Path of Exile, as of 0.466. The game is running windowed fullscreen. Windows cursor gets picked up if I mouse over with another app focused on top of the game.

Otherwise, working incredibly well. There is some dropped fps/frames when there is an incredible amount of fx on screen, but not sure if that's capture or the game itself. Very stable.

I tried OBS with Dark Souls with DSfix and it did not work very well. From my experience so far, it does not capture games that have stuff like Sweetfx injected in them.

Yeah, that's because those mods also use graphics hooks that currently interfere with the hook from OBS. Any mod that injects like that will probably cause conflicts. Another example would be FXAA injectors with Skyrim.

Alright, thank you. Are there plans to fix the issue at a later date? I have also been having some audio sync issues with the latest stable version (0.466a). Do you know what the issue might be?

You might try the latest test build in the pinned thread.

Yes, but I'm not sure how high priority they are.

Hi I just wanted to ask - if I'm captuing SC2 in fullscreen mode with game capture, every time I alt tab out of the game and then want to alt tab back in, OBS crashes. Doesn't happen when SC2 is in wondowed mode. This is really unfortunate because this makes the feature unusable for me. The reason is that capturing SC2 with game capture in fullscreen I have like 160 FPS but capturing in windowed mode I have 60 and drop down to 12 in end game fights with the same settings. While capturing the game with software capture running in windowed mode I have approx 15-25 more FPS with the same settings compared to windowed mode on game capture. So there is practically no reason for me to use the feature until the crashes are resolved. Has there been a workaround found yet that I don't know of or does Jim know what cuases the problem?

Thx. Your fan, Belle.

Ah, thank you for the info. Does OBS create a crash log? If so, please post it so I can see where it's crashing if possible.

Posting logs as requested to report any video/audio sync issues with version "0.467a test 2" (Correct me if I'm wrong).

This refers to Game Capture, so it may or may not be relevant:
http://www.twitch.tv/l4ad_jcade/b/357417646 (Skip to 3:17:00) The Twitch.tv VOD seems fine.
However, when I created a highlight of the entire stream and exported it YouTube (http://youtu.be/-fsAqonNRCU?t=3h17m), the audio, video are not synced (take note of the revs and shifts while focusing on the rpm gauge at bottom-right).

Keep up the great work, everyone. I'm loving what you all are doing.

Hey Jim.

This is the last log generated at the latest crash. All it took was to alt tab out of the game and when trying to alt tab back in, OBS crashed.

Well it didnt generate any other logs as far as I know. But I found out one thing - OBS crashes only when the scene with the gamecapture is set as the current scene when I try to resume the game to fullscreen. If I swith to different scene that doesnt have gamecapture of the current game in it, I can resume no problem and then switch scenes. Also the sceneswitcher seems to work since it switches the scene before the game rerenders itself? Do I have this correctly?

Edit: Ok so sceneswitcher switches scene before game rerenders and that causes a crash as well. Will have to manually switch scenes and make sure the one with game capture is not on whenever Im alt tabbing. Hope this helps to track the bug!

Hi! Love OBS, and really love that it has the game capture option but theres 1 problem. I stream just fine, without any lag on my part.

In game the game runs as smooth as if im not streaming, but on stream (aka on twitch) the stream lags, like its choppy even tho i stream it just fine. Have tried switching lots of stuff, nothing seems to work tho so here i am posting about it.
Game im trying to stream is Dota2, its using the d3d9ex i think (or something like that).
