Hello there,

I think i miss something, FX Magician's connected to my obs i see it, but none of the FX overlay appear.

Do i have to add a source to obs ?

Does can be a bug on Linux (fedora distro) or may be ma browser ?

I use OBS 30

Hello,
I have never tested on Linux.
FX Magician Overlay should be setup by itself.
If it doesn't show up, that means something went wrong.

It could be the browser.
I tested with FireFox, Chrome, Safari and Edge on PC and MacOS.
Please try with a recent Chrome if possible.

As I haven't tested OBS on Linux, it could also be a issue with OBS (Linux).

Hope this helps.

To previous comment, the "PWA-like" web app works on Linux.

Feedback: Not sure if it is me, but when I click on delete to remove an FX from the list, it does not go away. I've tested from a docked browser inside OBS and from external browser on same machine. So suspect it might be a bug that effects all platforms/browsers. I tested the BOT section and the ability to delete a BOT there works.

clever tool, yet you should think of a method not only to notify, but to select in which scenes you would add the overlay browser source

Indeed it is a bug.
I'll fix it in few hours.

I'm a little bit confused.
In the last update (today's release version 0.14), you can precisely add/remove overlay for each scene individually or for all of them (as shown in the sceenshot below).

or at least a plain vanilla FX list that can be controlled by custom css on the obs side? :)

These features were asked, be patient.
And there is no way to change CSS in OBS, it should be done in the source of browser page.

FX Magician FAILS with OBS 30.0.2 You can see several of us report that "FX Magician" will not pop up in the Source box. Thus, the tool fails.

Their are several people, myself included, report this recent failure on the comment section of the YouTube video entitled: "5 OBS Plugins you've never seen! FREE"

A German who posted, under the name of "@Lufimix", reported he got this tool to work on OBS 29.1.3, but not on versions 30.0.0 or 30.0.2

Myself and others find it will not work on the latest version, 30.0.2

Please advise.

Hello, this is a great little tool and thanks a lot for your work.
First of all, i would like to comment to a previous post, I have FXMagician working fine with OBS 30.02.2 (64 bit) on two different computers, one running on Win 11 and the other on Win 10.
.
I would also like to request for a change.
The effects are beautiful but you must use a dark, or darker background in order to be visible.
I would like to ask if it's possible to implement a change in a newer version so the user can select another font color in order to use it with brighter backgrounds.
Thanks a lot.

I'm using the Aitum Vertical plugin which creates a secondary vertical canvas (allows me to stream horizontal and vertical simultaneously).

FX Magician works great on the main horizontal canvas and runs on the second canvas too! The vertical canvas appears to be using size and coordinates of the main canvas and not the horizontal canvas.

This is an incredible piece of work. Thank you so much.

To be honest, I thought it would be better from a security standpoint if it was functionally implemented as a plugin (with a dock added). Also, the contents of the FX list and the items that can be edited are not very clear, so it feels opaque. It's an interesting attempt in terms of functionality, so I'm just making a suggestion.
  1. Clarify the FX that can be added and the items that can be customized
  2. No problems occur even when used with a custom browser dock
  3. Possibility of control using hotkeys
I would like to suggest the above. When considering the usage scenarios for this function, it is not very convenient to use it for remote control with an external browser or external device such as an iPhone. This is because pre-editing and real-time execution are not compatible with remote use. This format may have been chosen because it is easy to expand functionality, but I think it would be better to turn it into a plugin or use it with a custom browser dock, which would lead to better results. . I'll say it again, but it's an interesting feature, so please do your best in future development. It would be helpful if you could create a format that flexibly reflects user feedback. thank you.

Could it be that you've overlooked this? You can click the hamburger menu in the top left corner and then select which scene(s) you want it to appear in.

it works on my mac 2003 m2, at first it doesn't appear at all. What I did was I tick the "All button" and it all appear, then just manually click from which scene do you want to hide the lower third.

i confirm as well, that the virtual deck is working fine. it's a very straight forward and simple if you compare to touch portal.

It's a great plugin however, wish we can add the following:
1. for U/I, a button for a dark/light mode.
2. font size and colors
3. in confettit, the ability to add /upload our own custom confetti either text/word or icon, or something like particles using codes.
4. subtitles, ability to use dynamically and settings to add how many lines to show. Additionally ability to control press up/down or left/right key. This is great for showing a lyrics.

Keep up the great work.
