Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to fix a problem that happen to me two days ago... When I try to open Camooz app the gui is flashing and disappearing - I can't get to app anymore. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Is CamooZ still running (as a process you cam see in Task Manager)?

If so: stop CamooZ, then delete the CamooZ.ini file and start over.

Be careful: make sure you have your license key, because you'd need tp register again.

Yes it is still running but I can't get into app - I can hover the icon and I can see that the app is there but nothing more - I can't see the gui. If it is important the web version is working fine.
I tried to uninstall the app restart etc but no luck ...
 
It looks like you once worked with 2 or 3 monitors - and when you closed CamooZ it saved it's last screen position.

Now it seems you have one monitor less. CamooZ puts itself to the old coordinates when it starts. Unfortunately that monitor is no longer there, and CamooZ is in Nirvana at some negative screen positions.

From a programming perspective this is very tricky to handle as Windows is somewhat weird as to valid screen coordinates.

Here is the fix:

  1. Kill CamooZ (means: Stop the app, verify with Task Manager, that it is not running)
  2. Open c:\Users\yourusername\documents\CamooZ6\CamooZ.ini
    "yourusername" is to be replaced with your actual user name...
  3. Delete the lines
    WindowPosX=
    WindowPosY=
  4. Save the ini file
  5. Restart CamooZ
It is important to stop CamooZ first, because otherwise the manual change you make to the INI-file will be overwritten by CamooZ, and it will again write the wrong coordinates into the INI ;-)

That should do the trick. Please let me know if it works now. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will look into the code and see if I can do better handling such multi-monitor situations.

I have tried to recreate your problem. All works fine on my machine.

You could check if CamooZ Start with Windows has not been deactivated in the Task Manager:

On top of that you could also check the registry, at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Hey guys!
Amazing little product, super happy with it.
I've been having one tiny little problem though.
I might have something else on my PC that's messing with the camera, and it shows up all weird in OBS because it loses the settings I put in CamooZ (which is the whole point of using it, right).
I have to open CamooZ and press the refresh button to fix it.
How can I guarantee this doesn't happen?
I see there's an experimental button in there that keeps loading the profile... Is that a solution?

yes there is. It's the button with the fist on it called FORCE mode, where CamooZ will set current profile values to the cam every 300 msec

Hello ! I have "no camera found" window, then the window disappear. But the exe still is in the task manager. But no way to open the thing...

If i try to reinstal. Same probleme. WTF ? (i'm on W11 pro).

EDIT : Probleme solved in erase the Camoz settings in /Mydocuments

Thanks for posting the resolution as well.

CamooZ will remember its screen position at shutdown and move its window there at next start.

It sometimes happens that, if a user had say 2 monitors connected to a laptop, and next time starts the laptop standalone with no additional monitors, CamooZ sends itself into Nirvana, meaning screen coordinates outside of the actual desktop. So it's there but you cannot reach it.

I have built in several mechnanisms to detect that, but man, that is tricky.

Either Windows is not accurate on reporting valid screen coords, or I am too stupid ... both a possibility.
 
Hello, I use my Canon EOS 200D and EOS Webcam utility to record movies. EOS Webcam is recognized by OBS but it does not show in Camooz. I suppose it won’t work but I need to ask to be sure :-)

it looks like the EOS webcam does not show itself as a DirectShow camera.

In OBS can you open a cam settings dialog for it?
 
I am hving problems with the latest update. My setting list keeps showing up like this. With the older version it was fine. Any ideas what the problem is?

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, no change.

Additionally, an error message keeps showing up with the inbuild laptop camera. Any idea how this can be set to ignored or accept so it doesn't keep showing up.

Thanks for doing the test. CamooZ can only change camera settings if they are changeable, meaning the driver supports changing values like e.g. exposure or brightness via the DirectShow API.

Looks like your EOS does not provide that, hence the original dialog shows all greyed out, and CamooZ would not even list it.

Works as designed... :-)

Hi Thorsten,

this looks like rendering of the whole UI has issues. Now as stupid as this may sound: when have you last rebooted?
