Semi-free CamooZ - Save & restore camera settings 7.4.3

Camooz6 v7.4.3 – Optional AppData Storage
New in this release: -appdata command-line parameter. When used, Camooz6 stores its configuration (CamooZ.ini) and camera setting files in AppData\Roaming instead of the Documents folder.

This is useful for anyone who runs into “Unable to write” errors, which can happen when:

• Documents folder is redirected via OneDrive
• Controlled Folder Access / Ransomware protection blocks writes
• Permissions are restricted (corporate or shared PCs)

Usage:

"C:\Program Files\CamooZ\CamooZ.exe -appdata"

Settings and files will then go to %APPDATA%\Camooz6, bypassing these issues.

I have now seen a few cases where the license key is unusable after replacing the system HDD or SSD. In such a case, please send me a PM and I'll help quickly.

This has happened only a few times, but there have been instances where an automated license key purchase resulted in an email from my side that the user either did not see or did not receive. Users should, of course, check their spam folder first.

If the email is not in the spam folder, and you need to contact camooz@faltinek.de, please ensure you provide an alternative method to reach you, such as a second email address or your phone number. Otherwise, if our email containing the key did not go through, we won't be able to respond to your service request either.

Major bug fixes:

• Start with Windows fixed
• Automatic loading of profiles now always enabled

I've just had a support case where the user could save profiles, but they would not show up after startup. That works as designed: if you want them to load, make sure that the option "Autoload profiles at startup or refresh" is enabled.

I have now seen some rare cases where the license key is unusable after Windows re-install. In such a case, please send me a PM and I'll help quickly.

I had a support case where CamooZ would not find profiles after a restart. Turns out the user had his documents folder on Onedrive.

Solution: tell Onedrive to keep c:\users\your_username\camooz6 local.

Since 7.2.3 CamooZ will not list any virtual cameras, as they don't have settings to be modified anyway.

What CamooZ did, was to check if the device path contains the string "usb" as in e.g.
\\?\usb#vid_30c9&pid_0030&mi_00#6&352ecc9&1&0000#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196} ...

Turns out some internal laptop webcams are no USB devices, so now we shall also check for "display#int" as in
\\?\display#int3480#4&89fbd7f&0&uid144512#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}...

• New (experimental) option to force the currently selected profile repeatedly
• Fixes handling "never exit, send to tray instead" when ending CamooZ via tray menu
• Fixes window position issue: when CamooZ previously ran in a multi-monitor setup and when then re-started with only one monitor, CamooZ sometimes resulted in being active but outside the new smaller screen boundaries. CamooZ's window positions will reset to defaults now if previously stored positions are out of bounds.
• CamooZ "Start with Windows" will now only create one auto-start item

• The Autoload System can now be completely toggled on or off
• After auto-loading a profile it will now properly show in header and as profile box selection
• The misleading description "start minimized next time" has been replaced with "hide in tray after start"
• Added option to send CamooZ to tray rather than exiting when pressing the upper right "X" or Alt-F4
• Added an option to make showing the log after auto-load optional
