You probably have an old Tuna version. Update it.

I updated my version and i'm not getting the artist and song name. I'm using spotify and everything seems to be working i a proper way. The cover is working but not the titles. Any help?

Regards

Thanks for the reply.
So I tried using the build and I was able to get Tuna working normally with spotify and the txt files configured with no problem.
It doesn't seem to crash normally, but I noticed something weird.
Turns out that when spotify is trying to play a local file inside of a playlist, it crashes again, but when it's a song that is registered on spotify, everything works normally.
I'm not sure exactly what causes this, just any song that is a local file but is not from spotify directly, it seems to crash immediately.
That's weird, cuz that was exactly what I was doing before with no issues, that's why it weirded me out, but yeah, it does sound logical.
I might try and do the VLC or MPD method to make it work, but yeah, before it was working normally with local files even from within spotify.
Thanks for the reply anyway.
Yeah same here. I was having no issues until today when I suddenly started to crash using local files. I add local files to my spotify playlist in order to have songs on stream that aren't naturally on spotify. Suddenly today it starts crashing. Strange.

Trying the linx file seemed to fix the issue as well. Not sure where the problem came from but I'm glad it's fixed.

I've never tried it myself, I guess I just misremembered it, because someone had issues with it at some point.

Edit: Try this build
Thanks very much.

Yep, I had the same issue with trying to play my local files.

Unfortunately, the link for the build here is dead.

universallp updated Tuna with a new update entry:

Translations, crash and vlc fix

  • Added Danish translation
  • Add option to increase request time out for spotify
  • Fix issues with covers for vlc which contain unicode characters
  • VLC uses first active source instead of just the first source
  • Increased dialog minimum size since people kept thinking that options were missing
  • Browser widget fits cover and centers it and progressbar color is determined by the cover art
  • Fixed some issues when having multiple browser tabs open when using the user script...

I'm having this issue as well. Seems as if it keeps logging itself out. Once I redo the authentication for Spotify, the text files update.

Hello, I'm using an M1 Mac device. When using the Tuna plugin, I don't have the option in the "Song Info Outputs" list, which prevents me from deleting some of my configurations.

Trying Tuna (Version 1.9.6-HEAD (f72ac97) compiled on 2023.05.19 14:30) to display text from a VLC source along with progress bar and it works! It displays title tag just fine. BUT :)
Added a few more directories to VLC tab in Tuna settings, and when playing (eye of source turned on) those sources the text and progress bar is showing only from files that are in the top folder in that Tuna settings window!
Would it be possible to set Tuna that it will show text info from those other directories files, when they play, even if they are not in that top folder?
I hope my description made sense. Hope this screenshot helps.

Found a solution.
I had all those directories as VLC-Sources added to ONE scene and Tuna seems to have a problem fetching info from changing visibility of these directories / visible VLC sources.
I then changed every directory / VLC sources to be a seperate scene and now it works as expected. Thank you for reading and sorry bothering.

Great plugin! I do have a problem though.

My plugin won't fetch artist or album_artists at all. Or album.

Title and album cover works great, but those just don't seem to fetch for some reason. Any idea or just a bug? Any workaround?

This plugin is really great!!
I mainly use tuna to display info from a VLC source inside a nested scene (NS_Music) that is used in other multiple scenes, but I have two problems:
If I'm in a scene with NS_Music in it, tuna doesnt read the info until i switch to NS_Music. I tried using sourcedock to have the nested scene always "open", and using Studio mode to open the scene without making it active, neither work...

Also there's no toggle to disable picking info from other sources, so if im watching something in the browser that puts info in the Windows Media Control, sometimes picks that info over the VLC source, like a youtube thumbnail video. If i change the song source dropdown seems to fix it for that session, but when I open OBS again, doesn't matter that VLS is selected in the config, tuna gets the WMC info anyways
