I bought a TONGVEO PTZ Camera and have tried without success to find the i.p. address. Camera is running on Windows 11 set up with OBS. I have watched the video here but can't figure out where he verified the i.p. and port. Please help.
You have to check your user's manual for your camera for its default ip address. You must also configure it to match your local network's ip range.

And like what whizeazz said.. the ip address will show up on the screen where it is connected a few seconds after boot up

Help! I can not connect my camera. I go into the settings and as soon as i add the camera and select the port that my visca is on, OBS crashes and closed..... anyone have any clue what's goin on? I can control it from the standalone PTZOptics, but not the plug in... I am using a Tenveo PTZ camera
Other users who are using windows 11, with the latest obs & plugin seems to be having problems too. I have tried it on windows 10 and haven't encountered a problem.

Others have reported downgrading their obs & ptz plug in solved their problem

I dont know if obs logs might help give clues regarding the crashes

The logs don’t give any clues. There is no crash log either. I had to downgrade to obs 28.1.1 and ptz control 0.12.2 to avoid the crash. @glikely please look into this as many people are reporting this issue.

I'm frustrational trying to use PTZ controller in OBS Studio 29.1.3 with a SZOOMSY camera purchased last year from Amazon (link). It connects to my Mac Pro (M2 chip running Ventura 13.2) using USB to a hub. Streaming is fine but can only control PTZ using remote. Bought a RS232 (VISCA) to USB cable hoping that would do the trick (it did not). Tried all the different BAUD rate settings to no avail. Resigned to just using the stupid IR remote at this point but hoping somebody here might be able to help.

Jason,
Have you tried rolling back to ob 28.1.1 with PTZ 0.12.1? That might help.

I understand, but it is very strange, because the settings that this plugin has are not reaching the speed of the presets. When I click on a saved preset and the camera is directed towards the target, I can't control that speed, that is, I wanted her movement to be slower.
IMHO, speed movement when calling a preset is not yet controlled using this plugin. It is more likely that it will also depend on the camera's firmware
Your cameras may be like mine, with settings for preset call speed and preset zoom speed. The speed controls of this plugin only affect movements while "steering" the camera and are issued as part of the commands that nudge the camera one direction or another. They do not change the cameras preset speed settings. Check your camera settings for preset speed control.

Hello everyone,

I've installed an additional PTZ in our church and this one is connected via NDI HX on POE. I am having trouble getting the new Tenveo VL20N-NDI to work with the PTZ Controls. Our older PTZ is connected via HDMI and is on the network and works just fine with the PTZ controls, but the new one just does not respond even after I tried changing the port configuration in the camera's settings.

My question is is there a specific port that we use or can I change it to any port number? Should I use different port numbers for the new PTZ or use the same one as the other that is working? FYI I already tried both with the same and different port numbers, but still the new one just does not work.

At the moment I am just doing the movement from NDI's Studio Monitor, but I would rather control via the PTZ Controls plugin if possible.

Let me know if you need other details for the troubleshooting. Thanks in advance!

macOS (Apple Silicon) OBS 29.1.3 (64 bit) on Mac M1 Max - obs-ptz-v0.15.4-macos-arm64.pkg
PTZ Controls dock is not even showing up in the Docks menu.

Could someone let me know which version combination of OBS and PTZ Controls will work on my platform?

Thanks.

I am trying not to update OBS on our work computer because I am afraid that I might have encounter the same problems here using the latest versions. Out of curiosity I installed it on another machine, OBS v29.1.3 and PTZ plugin v0.15.4 is working fine on me but I am on WINDOWS 10

The issue is with VISCA serial cameras only. VISCA over tcp works.

Hi, may I ask how can I control my tenveo TEVO-VHD202U to OBS?
I just looked at the manual online for this camera. It supports VISCA serial protocol. You may have to use an older version of obs and ptz plugin. Please see earlier posts to find the combination that worked for others. I had to move to OBS 28.1.1 with ptz control 0.12.2 to get it to work with my VISCA serial cameras.

I'm not at the right computer to check my ports right now, but I can tell you that the PTZ controller ports and the ports in the camera settings must agree for whatever protocol you are using and that protocol must be enabled on the camera. Not sure how or why you've connected HDMI camera to OBS, when network connection should suffice. NDI, POE, and HDMI are irrelevant: ptz commands travel over ethernet using VISCA or ONVIF. They can also be sent with HTTP, but I do not believe PTZ controller supports that.

This plugin doesn't load for me. I'm getting the following error in my logs:

Code:
os_dlopen(/usr//lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/obs-plugins/obs-ptz.so->/usr//lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/obs-plugins/obs-ptz.so): libQt6SerialPort.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

the double // after "/usr" looks suspicious!

Im on ubuntu 23.04, using the official obs ppa

Thanks for the response. I have the same VISCA port set on the camera and PTZ Control for Tenveo. I am able to get the Aibecy PTZ to work, but not with the new Tenveo PTZ

I see, neither on Win10... but works on silicon mac
I remember seeing a post earlier where someone had debugged it on Windows 11 and found that the crash was happening on the call to open the port. I have had issues with two HuddleCamHD cameras connected via USB. My other FoMako cameras over the network have no issues using the VISCA over TCP. VISCA serial causes a crash consistently with the latest versions of OBS and PTZ Control. I had to downgrade to support the HuddleCam setup.

I love this plugin and use it all the time.

I send my cameras to preset locations all the time, but what I really wish I could do is a programmed pan/tilt while live. I have been unable to slow down the PTZ speed of the camera when moving to a saved preset. The maximum speed sliders do not appear to affect the speed of the camera movement when moving to a preset.

Is this Functionality already available, and I’m missing it?
