OBS rendering lag even WITHOUT streaming/recording

I also had this problem a couple of weeks ago. After a Windows update, the Desktop Windows Manager GPU usage got ridiculously high when Desktop Capture or Windows Capture was used in OBS.

I fixed it by upgrading the Nvidia Drivers to version 572.7 (I previously had 572.6 on Studio Driver), and I also got GPU scheduling.
I haven't updated it to 572.83 yet, but updating it to the latest version should be okay.

Forgot to update here, but I ended up doing the last resort which is reinstalling Windows entirely.
Something about that solved the problem, and I can stream properly again.

Reinstallation of Windows is usually the best thing since it's difficult to really pin down certain problems. It sounds like a toss-up between a broken encoders or certificate chains. Glad to hear it's now fixed!
