hello, i'm trying to have a way to move my source like a few pixels to the left or the right and repeat it using a shortkey. I thought the "move value" filter would do the trick but i dont understand how to put a value in it
Move Source filter - make sure the source you want to move is selected in each filter.
If you only need two destinations - you need two filters: make them "Whatever 1" and "Whatever 2" or use "default" or "closed" or whatever for your starting point name.
If you've added the Move Source after the source is there, then the transform is correct once you've selected the source. So now, all you need to do is make that 2nd Move Source filter - select the source - and now *move* the source to the few pixels over you want or whatever - and hit "Get Transform"
So now you can play with whatever you need stylistically.... Easing; the timing of the move (10ms? 100ms? 1000? 2865ms? whatever) if there's a delay to the action if you need to program a hotkey for the movement to begin - and you need to make sure that at the bottom, you've selected how you want the movements to happen...
Typically - I use a lot of two positions per source, constantly in motion - so I'll have "Next Move" for "Whatever 1" be "Whatever 2" and on the Whatever 2 filter, I'll put "Whatever 1" on the "Next Move" option.... and you can choose "Move End" on "Next Move On" or "hotkey" if you want to control the timing of the movement....
You can control the way the source moves by using the Curve - whether you want it in a straight line or you want some arced movements - and then play around with the Easing Function - maybe you want that curved arc to bounce or whatever.... I use Sine for most of mine with the constant motion - and Ease In & Out, but occasionally I just want one way if it visually works better...
Simultaneous Move - you want some other filters to spring into action when the movement starts? This is where you do that. "When the left side of my space station door moves 'open', the right side needs to always open too" so I'll have the filters programmed and just program the one filter and put the motion with the Simultaneous Move so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Okay, gotta ask my question to the Legend. Maybe this post will count as currency!
