An example of what's happening to me...
www.youtube.com
51:35 - When I turn around, the FPS seems to drop to 25-15 FPS
53:59 - Before jumping out the window, the FPS drops again, it seems to be below 30 FPS
2:42:57 - Going towards the gate, the FPS seems to drop again to 25/15 FPS
4:26:53 - Going straight to the door, the FPS also drops before even getting close
NOTE: Two and a half years ago I played this same game on the same emulator with plugins installed, but with a stable FPS and no irregularities. I played perfectly from beginning to end, just like other games, without any problems.
This has been happening in all my live streams for over a year and a half... I was using an older version of OBS (before 30.1.1), and when I updated to 30.1.1, these freezes started happening for no reason, and it's NOT:
- Connection problem
- Rapid FPS drop (27, 25 FPS quickly)
- Processor overload or freeze because it always stays at 20%/40% free for use
- Problem with video card or processor driver because both are updated (And this problem only started after an update before 30.1.1)
- OBS version, I was using version 30.1.1 because it had decreased in that version, but it started to become more aggressive when I see it in the stream. I'm now on version 32.1.1 and it still has the same problem, even though the overall CPU performance is much lower than in 30.1.1 (Version 30.1.1 is around 10% ~ 13% usage / 32.1.1. 8% ~ 11%)
- Despite my notebook being old (2018), it doesn't overheat much and the entire system is configured for maximum performance, both processor and video card.
This happened simply out of nowhere. I don't know if it's some plugin I use, like Multiple RTMP Outputs (a problem with the plugin's internal codec that causes the transmission to enter a vicious cycle, making the image freeze every 3/5 minutes).
The FPS performance is locked at 30 FPS, in the OBS preview window the game image is perfect, without lags, freezes or any kind of problem, this only happens when streaming... And also, from time to time the FPS seems to drop below 10 for a few seconds...
I spent a long time trying to solve this, giving up after several months... At the end of last year I formatted my PC to Windows 11, installed new drivers, cleaned the entire system of useless apps... I literally did everything, even using a different network, but the problem persists...
I've come to a small conclusion that it could be two things; Either it's a bug with VST plugins (I use more than one in my OBS to configure my microphone), or it's the Multiple RTMP Outputs which, as I mentioned, might be causing some kind of vicious cycle, or it could be a very old plugin that's hidden since I've been using the same OBS for years with the plugins already configured (I believe this isn't the real cause of the problem, but it leaves room for it).
Anyway, I'd like someone to help me with this. I don't mind it, but when I watch the stream, the FPS looks strange; it seems like my PC is freezing when in reality it's just the stream image that occasionally drops to 25/15/10 FPS per second.
My PC:
Windows 11 Home Single Language
i7-7500u
8 GB RAM
240 GB SSD
Graphics card used for streaming: 920 MX 2 GB
I have a 120 Mbps upload internet connection, but I use 7,000 Mbps.
If you want, I can record a short live stream of... 30 minutes and I see the cycle repeating itself, with the FPS dropping for no reason in various captures, both video and normal...
