I record Resident Evil 4 remake in 1440p 60 fps, the game runs smoothly while recording and I believe OBS too. But in final recorded videos sometimes there are random segments with fps drops, lags and freezing for a second, especially in action scenes where a lot of stuff going on . I tried many different CQP settings, tried CQ level from 17 to 25, nothing helps.... But if I use CBR, recorded footage seems to be fine, definetly somethin's wrong with CQP.

And in Stats window everything is completely fine, which is weird:
- Frames missed due to rendering lag: mostly 0, rarely 2-6
- Skipped frames due to encoding lag: always 0

Please help, here's my specs if you need more let me know:

CPU: i7 13700k 3.40 GHz
RAM: 32
GPU: Geforce RTX 4070 ti

Have you tried a different video player like VLC?
Yes, I've tried VLC and even adobe premiere pro, same thing.

I accidentally made two identical posts here and first one is gone now, but in the first one some guy suggested to run monitor in 120Hz, not 144. And do not create more than one source in the scene

Loaded scenes: - scene 'Scene':
- source: 'game' (monitor_capture)
- source: 'Game Capture' (game_capture)

I also ran OBS as administrator and I guess these advices helped in some way but I'm not sure. I think I'm still noticing just a few fps drops but much less than before. I need a few days for testing.

If someone can find the exact solution that woud be great.

While you're tuning things up, Game DVR (Captures) can be disabled. For your encoding settings, use Preset P5 & try the HQ Tuning, files will be larger but better quality. I also recommend zeroing B Frames (lowest quality frame type) & disable Visual Tuning.
