Is there a way for you get a transparent background? I would like to use this when I stream and record. I use the Nvidia background removal in OBS. Every time I record something it just has a black box around me and it blocks out areas I want to be visible. View attachment 110432
Was looking for a way to do this and found a work around. Create a folder group with the sources you want to be source recorded, make a color source of your choosing, #ff00ff00 is typical chroma green, and put it at the very bottom within the folder. Make sure that the source record plugin is set on the folder and not on the sources in the folder. Now, instead of a black box you have chroma green which can be easily keyed out in the video editor of your choice.

The way I use this, I have a 2 PC streaming setup where I can record "clean" footage on the first PC and have all of my overlays on a second PC that get streamed out. I wanted to start incorporating the live chat on my "clean" footage but didn't want it to always be there.

On my first PC I setup the browser source for chat in its own scene and setup the grouping and source record as I described above. Now I have a clean way to pull chat into my clean footage when I want with fully transparent backgrounds with a simple chroma key in post.

Hope that helps!

I like this a lot. However I'm having an issue with the different audio section and need some clarification on how it works. Right now, I tried to just record from a live source without selecting any audio track. It's not working. The source is picking up audio as I see from the audio meters but for some reason it isn't recording it. The source is in the same scene being recorded in source audio.

Hi, sorry to asks again, but with recent updates including Audio options, is it possible to DISABLE the recording of the Audio when using Source record? I record two cameras at the same time, one using Source Record for just a headshot and no need for audio. I select no audio but the resulting MKV file still provides an empty audio track. Hope that make sense. Thanks.

Hi, trying to download for Mac, packages won't open, reading as malware.

@k0ntroversial in vesion 0.4.3 and up you can select to record all audio tracks.

Any idea if Source Record will get the Checkmark boxes for audio like OBS currently has? When I record all audio, it records Gameplay audio on Audio Track 1, ALL audio (mic, GAME, chat) on Audio Track 2, and my Mic on Audio Track 3.
I need the following Audio tracks:
1) Gameplay only
2) My mic
3) Discord and Game Chat

Can you elaborate on what you think is the bug?
I have recordings going on multiple cameras and need them going even if I change the scene, so they will be recording and utilizing resources as expected. This is the intended behavior as I understand it and how I use it. Are you asking for a feature that would stop recording for an object not used in the active scene?

In my case, I would like to have a feature where I can specify recording groups. When streaming I need all objects recording at all times. But there are less common occasions, where I just need 1 of the filters to record. Currently I have to record all, and then go delete the other 6 unneeded recordings to just keep the 7th.

Hey there, first of all, thank you so much for this tool, as it's helped me quite a lot in the past, but I've recently had to do a fresh install and for some reason I'm not being able to Replay buffer two different sources (webcam + gameplay) :(

Any idea of what might be causing an issue here? The gameplay records fine, but the webcam for some reason has not been wanting to cooperate :(

I've got them both going to separate folders, different names, same settings, I've tried with different encoders as well with no luck, as I can't recall my settings that I had put 1+ years ago.

Any help is welcome!

Wishing you a great day,
OCRRAM :)

Have a question. is it possible to have the streaming section use the same settings as your main encoder in order to save resources. Instead of using double resources to stream in different locations?

Hello! Variable recording time under 20 seconds.
In my project, sports capturing, I would like to save the last 7 seconds for highlights.

When I use the standard obs replay buffer, it always saves the duration I set it too (7 seconds).
When I use the Source Record plugin, it saves in various times from 20 seconds to 1, no matter value I set in the Source Plugin filter.
I saved a highlight for every second, using the Source Record plugin, and it recorded videos from 20 ,19, 18, ...., 3, 2, 1, seconds and then it started saving again from 20 seconds to 1!

Standard obs replay buffer does not behave like this, it starts from 1 second until it is full (7 seconds). Then, it constantly saves a 7 seconds highlight video.
I believe Source Record plugin, should work the same way.

Thank you for your support.
