HI there. I totally love your tool. But since the last Update i have a big problem and i cant fix it.

Whenever i start the prog it is either hidden in tray or i only see the program bar . but it wont be on screen. you know what i mean ? i cant see the prog in front of me it always stays hidden even if i activate it like a browser.

It happened with last Update. I got Windows 10 Pro if that helps.. i tried reinstall but still stays hidden

Hi! I'm new, and I don't usually post on forums and such, but I think I can actually help you.

I had the same issue. I'm a streamer, and use this program to show all of my international viewers what the current time is for me, and the only way that I was able to fix it, was to completely uninstall snaz in BOTH my 32 & 64 bit "Program Files" folders. Then, I re-installed the program in my "Program Files (x86)" folder.

Now the window pops up, except the Spotify API isn't connecting to Spotify to read the current song. I hope that this helps you out. Good luck!

That means you are not on the current version :) the latest @thismoment is 1.10.0.8 and spotify is removed in the latest version. (9/10 i have to re-write the whole feature, with another grab method)

Check if you have "Check for updates" checkmarked in the option menu.

Yachak updated Snaz with a new update entry:

Version 1.10.0.8

=== Version 1.10.0.8

* Removed Spotify - until further notice
* If you don't have any problems connecting to Spotfy, feel free to stay
on 1.10.0.7 the problem with conneting to Spotify occurs to my
knowledge and info with some of the Anti virus software's

- I hear some users have a problem with opening snaz (start the app and can't seem to get the UI), the remedy is to do a clean install, you can find these simple steps...

Read the rest of this update entry...

Hey guys, call me the Saviour :3
I had the exact same issue and was like WTF!
The problem is that since the last update, Snaz somehow moves itself to the very left top corner of your monitor, more like just outside of it.
When Snaz is in the taskbar now, not in tray, hover over it until the preview window shows. You can now clearly see that it's there. Try to rightclick it and chose the 'move'-option. If this isn't working for you, which is quiet likely, I have another solution of course. Download the program. It adds the context menu 'Move to other Monitor'.
You will now be able to see it again.
I think this should solve like 99% of the Problems you are having and it shoul also help Jimmy fix the issue in the next update :3
If you found this helpful, I would really appreciate it if you could leave me a follow on twitch.tv/evitinia :)
Thanks guys.

The correct manner of fixing this issue, is to preform a clean install (this to make sure no other issue will crawl in or be left, for future use)

(Check Options tab for example - its even possible the Check for updates isn't checked anymore, while its by default check marked)

So i do recommend to do the clean install, so everything will work up and top)

I wrote a small guide for how to perform a clean installation in case you have a local problem.

It is available here https://github.com/JimmyAppelt/Snaz/wiki/How-to-perform-a-fresh-installation

Taking these 3 steps in the correct order will give a clean install as you were installing it for the first time.

As others already mentioned, some can't fix it by doing a clean install, me included. I even completly reinstalled windows for testing purpose so this should be the fix for those people as long as the problem occurs

Hi Evitinia,

Its impossible that it is not fixed with a clean install. You missed a step or something :)

Read the 3 steps : https://github.com/JimmyAppelt/Snaz/wiki/How-to-perform-a-fresh-installation

Make sure you remove all config files, in step 2.

Except it just disappeared again after resetting my PC. Odd.

Backtooling to 1.10.0.7 until this is truly fixed.

Can you confirm that you deleted all config files, before installing 1.10.0.8 ?

There is no change with 0.7 and 0.8 except that spotify tab is disabled.

I did, yes. Did a full system search on "JimsApps" folders and deleted them.

Reverted back to 1.10.0.7 and booted up Snaz this morning...same problem, unfortunately.

Full system search ? :)

1. Uninstall installed version
  • Close Snaz if it is running !
  • Uninstall the currently installed Snaz from your system. You can do this by uninstalling Snaz from the Programs and Features window from windows or execute the unins000.exe executable file inside the current Snaz installed directory.
  • Do a double check and make sure all folders/files are deleted on your HDD
2. Remove all config files
  • Config files are located in the folder JimsApps insideC:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local. Remove the folder JimsApps to erase all config files.
3. Installing the latest release

Yep, I followed these steps on Github.

I'll do a search on *any* folders named 'JimsApps' on my PC, throughout all 3 of my drives. I've been finding that the config files are not installing to the location above but rather elsewhere in my PC. I've been quite thorough. :)
