Recent "Encoding Overloaded" Error with AMF "No Output Packet"

Good evening, this is my first post.

I've recently been running into an issue that disconnects my stream without any warning other than seeing that my upload is 0 kb/s and "encoder overloaded". Changing settings doesn't do anything and the only to get things working again is to quit out of OBS and reenter. This only happens when using AMD Hardware encoding, this has never happened with x264 so far. I'm hoping that I don't have a dying graphics card because it is fairly new. I've tried updating my graphics drivers and this still happens.

I'll post the end of the log below:

1.The version of Windows you are running has a limitation which causes performance issues in hardware accelerated applications (such as games) if multiple monitors with different refresh rates are present. Your system's monitors have 3 different refresh rates, so you are affected by this limitation. You can fix this performance problem by setting all displays to use the same refresh rate.

This problem is fixed in the '2004' release of Windows 10. Update your Windows.
2. In Windows 10 versions 1809 and newer, we recommend that "Game Mode" be enabled for maximum gaming performance. Game Mode can be enabled via the Windows 10 "Settings" app, under Gaming > Game Mode
3. Display and Game Capture Sources interfere with each other. Never put them in the same scene
4. Multiple Game Capture sources are usually not needed, and can sometimes interfere with each other. You can use the same Game Capture for all your games! If you change games often, try out the hotkey mode, which lets you press a key to select your active game. If you play games in fullscreen, use 'Capture any fullscreen application' mode.

1. If I switch to x264 it does not have any issues. If this error was occuring because of my Windows version, would it be crashing on x264? Unfortunately I can only use x264 when I am using my capture card, its not powerful enough to do x264 and PC games at the same time.
I'm not able to upgrade to the 2004 release of Windows since it says my computer isn't ready for it yet. Is there a stable version of Windows that I could rollback to?

2. I've enabled Game Mode and the encoder still got overloaded and disconnected my stream.

3. I've removed display and game capture sources from the same scene and the encoder still got overloaded.

4. I have multiple game capture sources on the same scene because they use 3 different aspect ratios: 16:9, 4:3, and 3:4 so I would prefer not to make any changes since it has not been having issues for years until recently -- but I made sure to stay on a single scene that did not have multiple game sources after going live and the encoder still got overloaded.

I forgot to ask these questions in my last post --

Recently I set up a replay buffer for instant replay. I haven't tried turning this off and testing yet but that is the only recent change I can remember making in OBS other than the gfx card update. Could replay buffer be causing this weird error?

I am able to use Quicksync H.264 but will this affect my computers performance the same way that x264 does?

Thanks again.

1. Your log is incomplete.
2. If you cannot update your Windows then set your all refresh rates on your attached monitors to the same value.
3. Quicksync is a hardware encoder and should not drastically impact your computers performance.

Hi all,

I was able to resolve my issue by switching to Quicksync. I am still using different refresh rates on my monitors, using multiple game capture sources, and using display and game capture in the same scene without any issues.

@ZapojKabel get the issues mentioned in the log analyzer out of the way first and let us know if you're still having issues:
1. If available via Windows Update, update to Windows 2004 or 20H2 per https://obsproject.com/blog/five-simple-tips-for-new-streamers
2. To ensure that OBS Studio has the hardware resources it needs for realtime streaming and recording, we recommend disabling the "Game DVR Background Recording" feature via these instructions.
3. Your gigabit-capable network card is only connecting at 100mbps. This may indicate a bad network cable or outdated router / switch which could be impacting network performance.
4. At least one of your audio devices has a sample rate that doesn't match the rest. This can result in audio drift over time or sound distortion. Check your audio devices in Windows settings (both Playback and Recording) and ensure the Default Format (under Advanced) is consistent. 48000 Hz is recommended.
OBS Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
VoiceMeeter Aux Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO): 44100 Hz
VoiceMeeter VAIO3 Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO3): 48000 Hz
VoiceMeeter Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO): 48000 Hz

OBS Settings, Audio, General, Change Sample Rate to 48 kHz

This log is only 14 minutes long and doesn't show the issue.

@qhobbes Thanks for quick response..
1) i have version Windows 2009 which is the latest release (20H2)
2) i disabled these functions
3) well my internet conection is 100/100 so there is no need to have a router with a maximum speed of 1 gbit, and when this happend a tested my speed and stability of my network (even contact my ISP) and everything was fine upload was 100Mbits
4) i fix these settings
I thought the mistake was what was written from the middle of the log where it is written
00:51:49.075: [AMF] <Id: 3> No output Packet, encoder is overloaded!
00:51:49.109: [AMF] <Id: 3> Input Queue is full, encoder is overloaded!
Anyway i fix number two and four this morning and let you know.
Once again, thanks for help

Why do you have StreamFX installed?
Why don't you fix Tuna?
Why haven't you fixed your ethernet connection?

Sorry, all I see is a waste of effort/time, you don't deserve help...
