I am experiencing significant performance issues with OBS Studio when streaming games on a system using an Intel GPU.
I have tried various OBS settings, including different bitrates and encoding configurations, but I am still experiencing two major problems.
1. Stream quality becomes heavily pixelated during fast-paced gameplay
Even when using what should be an adequate bitrate, the stream quality noticeably degrades when playing shooting games or other games with a lot of movement. The video becomes much more pixelated and blurry during intense or fast-moving scenes.
I understand that fast-motion content requires more bitrate, but the degradation I am seeing seems unusually severe compared with my experience using XSplit Broadcaster.
2. Severe FPS/rendering stutter when the game is running without V-Sync
If I run a game without V-Sync or an FPS limiter, OBS's capture/rendering becomes very choppy. The game itself may be running smoothly at a high FPS, but the captured video becomes inconsistent and stuttery instead of maintaining a stable frame rate.
For example, if the game is allowed to run at very high or uncapped FPS, OBS appears to have difficulty rendering the capture smoothly. Enabling V-Sync or limiting the game's FPS improves the situation, but I would like to understand why OBS behaves this way and whether there is a better solution.
I do not experience the same level of stuttering with XSplit Broadcaster under similar conditions.
