I need to report a serious logic error in the Output Timer tool that prevents reliable use of OBS Studio. If changes to the timing schedule become necessary during an active recording and the user tries to stop the timer via the Stop button the software immediately terminates the entire recording. This is a massive flaw in the user interface design as a button within a sub tool should never kill the main function of the software without any warning. Stopping the timer should exclusively deactivate the countdown and never interrupt the recording signal. This error just destroyed several hours of my work because I simply wanted to adjust the timing flexibly which is currently technically impossible without ruining the file. It is mandatory that the timer control is decoupled from the recording control so that users can react to timing changes without risking complete data loss.
