OBS Notifier - Simple program for displaying notifications from OBS on your desktop

This is a simple program for displaying notifications from OBS on your desktop.
  • Currently only Windows is supported.
  • Does not display notifications in the form of overlays (such applications are usually banned in game anti-cheats).
  • This program will be useful if you have multiple monitors, or if your game/application is not running in full-screen mode. (You can also create a plugin with sound alerts.)

DimOkGamer updated OBS Notifier with a new update entry:

1.3.0 Update

  • Added localization support. Most languages currently use machine translation. Also I am not sure that RTL works correctly.
  • Removed the ability to create plugins. Now they are part of the program itself.
  • Extended tray menu.

Hey I might be going too far but I know nothing about this stuff and wondered if it were possible to have customisable notifications and have hotkeys activate them

As you can see in the screenshots of the app, it has customization of the appearance of notifications. And in the next version, these settings will become easier
I didn't really understand about the hotkeys. This application reacts to actions in the OBS itself, that is, when you have saved a screenshot, switched a scene, or saved a replay. That is, hotkeys are assigned in the OBS itself.

I have a question about obs-websocket. Can the server be set to auto-start, or do I have to manually enable the obs-websockets server every time?

I apologize for the long wait.

As far as I know, the server always starts automatically. I just run OBS and it starts the websocket server. Along with this, a lua script is launched ("Start with OBS" button), which launches the OBSNotifier and the Notifier automatically tries to connect to OBS.

After I downloaded the ZIP version of OBS, the websocket server indeed remains open. It seems there might be an issue with my PC that is not suitable for using the installer version

OBS Notifier is running in the background. Do you know how to fix it?

Hello! OBS Notifier does not want to connect to OBS studio. I have indicated the correct IP address and WebSocket password.

After enabling the WebSocket server on the third point from the hint, did you apply the settings?

If OBS and OBS Notifier are running on the same computer, then you do not need to specify an IP. But if you do specify it, then you also need to specify the port: 192.168.1.15:4455

Is the preview mode working for you? If there is no preview window, then try to turn on the preview and change the position of the window, perhaps it turned out to be somewhere outside the screen. You can also try changing the display on which the notifications are displayed.
If this helps you, please specify the configuration of the monitors, their scaling, and the Windows version.

I didn't know about the preview mode, thanks. After adjusting the sliders, I found out that in the default setting, the notification position was set to the last pixel on the right side of the screen, while the notification itself was aligning to this position with its left side, meaning it was appearing off-screen. So, after adjusting the 'position offset' slider, it gradually started moving into the visible area. Now everything works. Thanks.
The only thing that doesn't work is the hotkeys in games, but I think that's not your problem.

In Windows, this can mainly happen if games are run as administrator. Either the game itself is running with elevated permissions or its launcher (Steam/EA/Ubisoft/other).

That issue has already been resolved, thank you. I have another small problem: I started recording and forgot to stop it, resulting in 5 hours of unnecessary video. I realized that I need a persistent notification during recording, like a small semi-transparent icon in the corner or at least a change in the program's tray icon.
Is there such a feature in OBS or in your program?
