Well guys i set options to Quality and i got nice pixel video: http://www.hitbox.tv/video/553532 its looks like amd vce is worster than IQS
can you post your log from the help menu please. Just the link is fine. if you could also screenshot encoding tab and VCE tab.

t seems like the encoder is stalling on something. thought that was hitbox's VoD service but then paused and realized that was in the video.

ok then. undo that then. I dont know what it could be.

OBS freezes if "Use AMD AMF instead OVE" is active. If its disabled there are no probs, but poor performance in stream @ 3000 kbit

;,,(

EDIT: used ddu to uninstall and reinstall fresh 14.12 from website, again...

Code:
RTMPPublisher::SocketLoop: Stalled for 1553 ms to write 536559 bytes (buffer: 0 / 536576), unstable connection?
your connection is stalling, reduce to 3500 bitrate/buffer
I think this is the root of your issues.

Also, raise your GOP to 30 or better yet 60. and your IDR, probably 60 as well

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some help on optimizing settings. I stream but I'm not so bothered about crispy quality and mainly want ingame performance. Without streaming I get a nice smooth 80 FPS on League of Legends, but when I stream I get 50 FPS, which is fine, but it's not as smooth and commands I issue ingame such as attack/move commands seem to lag behind slightly due to the choppiness (although my ping is fine so it's not that).

I've made a lot of progress thanks to dping on another thread, initially using the standard OBS version, then I moved to this version and it's helped me immensely but it's still just not quite yet where I want it to be.

Running an AMD A8 6600K Quad with HD8570D Graphics.

Driver Packaging Version: 14.501.1003-141120a-177998C
Catalyst Version: 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Software

Below are my current settings on OBS

Also, don't know if this counts for anything..

I know my way around quite a few things with computers, but the problem is its mainly software based, so when it comes to hardware and how GPU/CPU's etc as related to this, I'm pretty clueless. Here's a few things I don't know if relevant though.

  • I've tried changing the engines to Host/DX9/DX11, With them I've tried messing about with disabling D3D/OpenCL interop. DX9 feels the best I think.
  • Also tried using OpenCL instead of AMD AMF.
  • Downscaling to the minimum 360p deals with all the above problems and makes it 95% to the smoothness without streaming, something I'd be happy with; but even with my low standards of stream quality, 360p is too less.
I hope there's some solution, as I really like to stream because I have people that like to watch me play and learn but also because I play at a higher gaming level the smoothness is vital for me to make micro plays. I can switch to a dual streaming set-up once I move but that's in a year!

Thanks!

This might sound like a funny question but what speed is your RAM set to? 1600? 1833?

Anyway, lets try something simple. disable to OBS preview window. right click on preview, click preview again and uncheck "enable view".

Post a link to your logfile after streaming for 5 minutes. its in the help menu.

Ah all this time I stream with the preview window off anyway. I've never streamed with it on in my life. RAM speed is 3.90 GHz i believe. I can still post the log file if you want, of a 30 min stream I just did

Something it wrong because that low of streaming resolution and preset should not affect performance.
That RAM speed can't be right, Fastest DDR3 ram speed at the moment is 3000MHz. Anyway, all I was getting by is that APUs perform much better with faster RAM so make sure your ram is set to at least the clocks you bought it at.

Also, I dont know if you've tried the newest drivers out...15.5 I believe.
