jackun, any thoughts on working with the obs studio once and becomes multiplatform?
Oh yeah! Got it to build on windows finally (but probably a bit crippled :P). Now to see how to add extra encoders. Seems to be using plug-in like system.

Are you kind of using obs-studio already? But yeah, it has a module system but GUI doesn't seem to have a control to select encoders yet as only x264 is implemented.
not yet, but I wanted to give it a go. given time, I will be playing with it tonight; seeing how it works, breaking it exc.

Ya pretty much run the latest versions and just downscale to 720p, use the default Quality settings on your VCE and you're good to go. Fine enough for any stream.

that AMD VCE settings page looks really old. like right as Jackun switched for MFT to AMF. I would update with the current build.
I pic period to 0, Max reference frames to 1

if you are using 60fps GOP 30, IDR 120
If you are using 48fps GOP 24, IDR 96

looks like i posted wrong obs, that's new one (i'm using 2 obs one old and new one but looks like i forget which one is which) http://i.imgur.com/bgCjqVc.png

EDIT: where are max reference frames? MV search range or IME search range or other settings like media foundation transform settings (which is grayed out for me)

Max ref frames can only be changed with older versions so dont worry about that.

fix your GOP and IDR and i pic period though. also, that still isn't the newest build :D

Hello I have problem with im useing OBS AMD VCE
My video card is HD7950(With 2048SP)

If i set Max search range X/Y to 36 they video will stuck
like this http://youtu.be/FUgcaaMhayM

If i set Max search range X/Y to 24
It will wroking fine and Fps drop only 0~5
http://youtu.be/7xnRSI7nM-w

If I use AMF the in game FPS will drop like 10~20

This is my setting (1080p 60fps)

Please help~~
(Sorry Poor english)
Switch AMD AMF settings from Quality to Balance. Quality is unstable. Than you'll probably have no visible fps drops, but it can crash your game and stream eventually (still happens for me with the latest build)
My settings (maybe try to steal something for yourself):

1080@60fps isn't supposed to work with "Quality" preset even though I see you've made some adjustments. lowering the max search range to 24 is like setting the preset to "Balanced" so just use ballanced

@sneakyjoe are you using 30fps?

Nope. 60 FPS for video encoding. No AMF, no OpenCL can handle it stable - sooner or later stream will crash, and I'll need to restart the game.

I don't understand, I thought that CABAC is supposed to be unchecked... What's better for someone that has weak CPU like mine? Checked or unchecked?
