I've been through the guides and tried multiple settings but I can't find any recording settings that give me decent quality without having a high encoding error or the recording stopping a couple seconds into it.

My specs are:
CPU: AMD A10 6800k
GPU: R9 270x
Ram: 8GB

for stream or drive?

here is what i stream with now that cbr actutally works

if you are going to drive depending on your specs
cbr to 12.5k (for 100mb/min) or 25k to 50k (greater mb per minute ) or use QP (highest mb/min)
1080 @ 48

i find this to be a perfect fps to prevent lower frames and high encoding issues.

Just recording, not streaming

Hi guys, I have a problem. I'm trying to stream from my PC to my laptop so it transcodes from 1080p 60 fps to 720p 30 fps with nginx and ffmpeg.

My VCE settings are these:

This is ffmpeg errors I get if stream ends for some reason (like I stop and start streaming again instantly)

It may keep streaming normal after some time, but it may not.

And then it goes like that if I restat it again giving only audio stream without image:

ffmpeg string is:
Code:
bin\ffmpeg -i rtmp://127.0.0.1/restream/source -vcodec libx264 -g 60 -preset veryfast -b:v 1800k -maxrate 1800k -bufsize 1800k -s 1280x720 -x264opts nal-hrd=cbr:force-cfr=1:keyint=60 -sws_flags lanczos -acodec copy -r 30 -f flv rtmp://127.0.0.1/transcode
pause

Please, tell me what am I doing wrong?

Was unable to start this up even with second OBS + video source plugin instead of ffmpeg on the second PC. I get black screen instead of video. Please, answer how can I make it work!

I just get an Error now (" Encoder Initialization Failed! ")

I've got latest drivers (R9 290 - 15.7.1, OBS - 0.656b). it works with x264 (as it should).

Check front page. make sure that Use "Open Cl..." option is disabled in the encoding tab and AMF is enabled.

If not, Uninstall with DDU then reinstall the most recent drivers.

I followed everything, and I did what you said. Still doesnt work. But I will try again later.

Hi. I was recording Valkyria Chronicles and it seems like the audio in game is fine, but the audio that is coming from my microphone is static.
I have tested the microphone without the recording and there weren't any static.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Does this happen with the standard OBS build?

remove the monitor capture from your scene,

uncheck disable aero in OBS and use a windows enabled aero theme.

set scene buffering to 700ms.

make sure the audio format in OBS matches your sound card's audio format. this can be found in windows playback devices under the advanced tab for your sounds card. most sound cards are 48000 (48kHz) but some are 44100 (44.1kHz).

When using CBR, dont use custom buffer of 0 or set the custom buffer to the same as the bitrate.

and I dont know what you mean by "make it to real 70p with constant bitrate?"
