OBS branch with AMD VCE support.

Thanks man I'll try copying your config and see if it helps me. Damn if I try to stream at 1080p my FPS gets slaughtered >_< I get a high encoding message do you receive this as well ? it's not constant but it will pop up and go away and pop up again

I only get the high encoding message when recording BF4, though there just seems to be an issue recording with BF4, as putting my encoding settings to lowest settings doesn't affect a thing, while I can record at 1080p 60FPS in more intensive games with OBS VCE.

Can anyone help? My OBS crahs always after 1-2 hours of streaming or recording. If I start to stream or record after that, I got bluescreen. OBS starts anyway.

There is one possibility, that problem is the game I stream and record. When obs crash, it's crash the game launcher too and launcher error say something about 3.5.1 network stuff and if internet explorer is not installed. Game is Ghost Recon Phantoms.

Please, check my log file.

Thank you.

Yeah that's the game I was getting the message in, also do you know why text doesn't appear clear ? Like on your desktop or applications that are showing the text won't be clear for some reason. Also if you lower your resolution downscale to 720p the high encoding will go away. Also do you play BF4 using Mantle and then capture with Monitor Capture or do you just use DX11 ? Reason im asking because I get FPS issues with the R9 380 in BF4. If there is alot going on my fps will drop into the 50s and sometimes 40s even on 64 play server and I run on medium settings.

The reason for why your text comes out blurry is due to having a low bit rate and having a downscaled video from source. For BF4 I have tried running both mantle and record that with monitor capture, and DX11 game capture, though I ended up with the same result. With BF4, I run my settings all at Ultra except for anti-ailiasing is disabled, and I get the same minimums as you do, BF4 is a very CPU intensive game, and those minimums are just that the CPU could't processes the information quick enough and give it to the gpu to have a high frame rate, you can check this by settings BF4 to Ultra and see if you minimums stay the same.

There seems to be issues with your QP settings in AMD VCE Encoder settings.

ah okay thanks, do you also disable AA post as well? I'm about to run the test you suggested. I also have a SandyBridge CPU @3.30 GHz 2500k

Oh ok my CPU is i5 2500k SandyBridge @ 3.30 GHz I had it OC to 4.2 GHz but still runs into the minimums >_<

The minimums that you get in your game are not bad at all though, the game is still very playable at stutter free with those minimums. Don't expect to get minimums of 75-80 fps, as that is ridiculous even for very high end machines.

Ah I see, I just want to be able to stay at or above 60 FPS at all times since I stream at 60 FPS. Would overclocking my CPU help me with my issue or no ?

Hi guys, I have a problem. I'm trying to stream from my PC to my laptop so it transcodes from 1080p 60 fps to 720p 30 fps with nginx and ffmpeg.

My VCE settings are these:

This is ffmpeg errors I get if stream ends for some reason (like I stop and start streaming again instantly)

It may keep streaming normal after some time, but it may not.

And then it goes like that if I restat it again giving only audio stream without image:

ffmpeg string is:
Code:
bin\ffmpeg -i rtmp://127.0.0.1/restream/source -vcodec libx264 -g 60 -preset veryfast -b:v 1800k -maxrate 1800k -bufsize 1800k -s 1280x720 -x264opts nal-hrd=cbr:force-cfr=1:keyint=60 -sws_flags lanczos -acodec copy -r 30 -f flv rtmp://127.0.0.1/transcode
pause

Please, tell me what am I doing wrong?

To get minimums of 60 FPS, you would have to overclock your CPU and GPU to the point that they would achieve performace of a gtx 980ti and a 5820k, meaning that you won't achieve that kind of performace on the hardware you are running unless you run your in game resolution less than 1080p at medium settings or lower.

Hey! Yesterday I tried streaming with this but after 15-20 minutes my OBS would crash. I reinstalled framework and stuff like that and today when I try to stream it says it can't load OBSVCE.dll even though it's in the folder? Anyone knows the solution to this problem? Thanks!

There seems to be issues with your QP settings in AMD VCE Encoder settings.

I change VCE encoder settings/ Rate control method from CBR to VBR. It worked well, but then it crashed again and I got bluescreen when tried to broadcast again.

On 15.8 beta driver. I can recode movies, but 1/3 frames drop. Example 30 to 20, 60 to 40 actual fps.

Reencoding movies solves probrem but nonsense.

I tried to start streaming games again but when I press on the encoding settings obs force closes and I found this in the log file:
Code:
16:27:25: Failed loading CUDA dll
16:27:25: If ObsVCE crashes while trying to use OpenCL functions, try 32bit version.

I tried it first with 15.8 on windows 10 with a i5 2500k,AMD r9 290X
Then I removed the driver and installed 15.7.1 again with the same results.
I also tried the 32 bit version with no luck.
