Microstutter and skipped frames in preview and recordings. No encoder or Render Lag.

If its a stutter issue, GSync is still active if you use Fixed. Changing it to Fixed Refresh is the best for OBS. However, I still had this jerky video every now and then.....until I forced enabled OpenGL 4.5 using the Nvidia Profile Inspector. I noticed that by default (OpenGL disabled), OBS loaded OpenGL 3.3 while it is set to disabled (RTX 4080), so I think that this is a NVIDIA issue. After forcing it to 4.5, I had no further jerky video.

I ultimately believe that OpenGL is the root cause. By default, the OS uses 4.6. OBS was set to Direct3D, by my log stated that OpenGL 3.3 was loaded. Vulkan does not even support 3.3, so there is something enabled in the driver that might be causing a performance conflict with Direct3D. Im still looking in Windows 11 for any app or plugin that might be enabling it in my case.

The first post in this thread provides a great summary of the core issue and various approaches to potential fixes. Currently, I am using Method 6, which the original poster hasn’t verified, but I can confirm it works.

Yeah, this is an interesting read Leo. I'm looking through these threads now. Now I have not looked into the Elgato side of things yet. One thing that I do know is when it's used with the Series X or PS5, this issue is not present. I strongly believe that this is a rendering issue, for we only have Direct3D 11; the question is which Direct3D 11 is being used? Direct3D11 or Direct3D11on12?
