Question / Help Lagging from Capture Card

Hello, I just booted up OBS to record today, and when I'm trying to record from my PS4, using a Razer Ripsaw, it starts slowing down my whole computer on occasion while lagging to the extreme in the software itself, I switched to record a game directly from my computer and it runs fine, I checked Task Manager while running it nothing spikes, I tried using an older version of OBS, changing the USB cable plugged into the capture card, using a different console, the video and audio run through the capture card to my other monitor without problems, I'm not sure what's causing this.

I'm actually having the exact same issues except you said it runs to your other monitor. I can't get it it to work at all and it was working some days ago. If anyone has any solutions, I'm having the exact same issues where I can stream PC games fine but the second I turn on my capture card to record a console game my computer freezes. It's not the capture card itself because it works fine on my laptop.

Hello,

a friend of me had the exact same issue. The cause were recently installed Windows Updates (around the 10th - 15th of december). He uninstalled them and everything went smooth again!

I'll try this, the dates actually match up exactly when I started having the issues. I'll report back if it worked!

So for anyone with a ripsaw , this was the fix. It has to do with the most recent windows update. I spend so many hours on this, even replaced USB 3.0 Cards etc etc This was the ultimate fix was a rollback. Thanks for the help Maggi!
