Hello all,
I rebuilt my PC recently so I could game and stream. My old 3080 and 10900K weren't cutting it. Went all out and got a 4090/11900K combo and bought a Shure Mic with a Boss Gigcaster 8 mixer. I'm having a h*ll of a time figuring out the way Windows 11 reads the audio input form this mixer, or probably any mixer for that matter. There are 3 USB settings on this mixer to send to my PC, labeled "2 Mix", MTK-Record" and "MTK-Stream". When you select these USB output settings it completely changes the inputs Windows sees and how many. If I use "2 Mix, windows sees a nice unified audio input where I can utilize all the channels on this mixer like my voice, Bluetooth, a guitar, etc. This was working for me for a week and now it doesn't. Just wanted to clarify this works, or had. The other two USB inputs, the "MTK-Record" and "MTK-Stream", windows sees these as 8 separate audio inputs with titles like "main" and "monitor" among channels 1-4, etc... I just don't get it. Firmware is up to date and all that. I have reached out to the manufacturer for help, but I might as well play in traffic it seems. Just frustrated. It's a pretty straight forward mixer. I'm just getting lost in windows and subsequently OBS in the end. Thanks in advance for any and all help. I'd be willing to share my screen via skype or something and kick someone a few bucks for the help. I'm that stuck. Trying to avoid some pricey tech visit to remedy this.
First 2 pics are of the audio input settings in windows when I have the "MTK-Stream" or "MTK-Record" selected as an input. 3rd pic titles "2 Mix" is of what windows sees when I have the "2 Mix" USB input selected. Note it's one single input, which is what I'm after here, and again, it was working for a time. The last pic is a snippet of OBS. I can't even get any of these audio inputs to show up in the mixer.
I don't know. When I rebuilt my PC all h*all broke loose upon reinstall I guess. I don't get it. I've been building PC's a long time, but I've never tried a mixer with a proper mic. Thanks again!
