Question / Help Encoding Overloaded + FPS Drop Issue (NEED HELP)

I don't know what's been going on as of late with my OBS application, I've been streaming for many months using OBS and it's been fine, absolutely zero FPS drops. Lately however, I can't go five minutes without FPS drops! It seems to only happen when I'm on my main gaming screen, but it's never been an issue until now for me. I rock an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, an Intel i7 7700k, 32gb ram, I have Gigabit internet with up to 400+mb/s download and ~20mb/s upload, so this shouldn't be causing any problems for me but over the past couple days I've noticed HUGE spikes in bitrate with it going over my max set bitrate of 6000 and way under as well, seeing the "Encoding Overloaded" error, frame drops, etc. I just want to know why it's an issue now when I've been doing fine streaming with no issues for the longest time until now.

There's no streaming attempt shown in that log, so there's no report of what issues you're running into. Make sure you grab a log from an actual streaming session.

Sorry for that, I have a lot of them in trying to figure this out lately.

That should be the right one, I just did a test stream to figure it all out. Checked the log as well and it showed a lot of dropped frames due to encoder and stuff like that. I've streamed at these encoder settings for the past 5 months and it's NEVER been an issue, however now idk what's happening it's just falling apart.

Change from Max Quality down to just Quality, and turn off psycho visual tuning and lookahead. All of those options use CUDA, which requires extra GPU resources to perform the encoding. This is what's causing the rendering lag, and in turn the matching encoding lag.

These options have only been available since the new OBS version 23 btw, which was released just this month.

This seemed to help me out, I've already done everything I could do to fix it with all the recommended options (such as turning off game bar, decreasing bitrate, decreasing resolution, etc) but none of it worked when I play Apex Legends. I didn't even have to get rid of Max Quality, I just mainly had to turn off "Psycho-Visual Tuning" as I tested each and that one in particular seemed to eat up the most bitrate and was more costly to my stream than anything. Turning off BOTH "Psycho-Visual Tuning" and "Look Ahead" however decreased my fps loss on twitch from 5-10 every second to ~1-2 every second.
