Well, that was easy. I just redownloaded/reinstalled the newest version of OBS rather than trying to update it from within the app (even though it said it was already updated). The properties tab now shows 30.2.3, and my wonderful Droidcam is once again working. Top notch, y'all.

Hi DroidCam Classic is able to output 4:3 aspect ratios, is this not doable in the new version? I know OBS can do video cropping but I want to use the DroidCam Client as a controllable webcam instead of also going through the OBS software, since OBS creates its own named webcam driver, has its own complex settings, and so forth. (For example, I would still have to launch the client to zoom in/out, right?)

@akeira If you don't want to use OBS, then the only options are the DroidCam Client or the http video feed. The DroidCam Client also creates a named webcam, its a simplified OBS.
You can open the remote controls in a web page, and zoom in/out without the client.

somehow I couldn't configure DroidCam source, so I removed it and now I can't get it back! I have reinstalled it, uninstalled OBS, reinstalled everything and still it's not in the sources! Any idea what can I do?

We have suddenly got trouble using Droidcam on the work computer that is being used for livestreaming. Even if port 4747 is opened fully or all components in defender is turned off it still won't connect the phones to OBS, I have verified it working on the same phones using a private computer though so no idea what exactly is the issue.

There's a lot of in the log file:
[DroidCamOBS] read header recv returned -1

When trying to activate the connection it just shows up "Connection Timed out!", used to work fine before maybe 1-2 weeks ago. It might occassionally show a freeze frame for a second and then back to black screen.

Both OBS plugin and OBS are the latest version and the app in the phone, also tested with older version and it was the same.

We have suddenly got trouble using Droidcam on the work computer...
Is that part of the same work for the same company that owns the computer? If so, then it sounds like a problem for their IT guys. If not, then the solution is to not use their machine.

Using work resources for non-work stuff seems attractive, but it's also a trap. Free tools...that can be taken away at any time without warning or remorse. And anything you put on them, whether by intent or not or even unaware, can hurt you a lot.
  • Lack of real privacy, combined with prejudice somewhere.
  • Or you could let in a cybersecurity threat, completely unaware, which is why IT has it locked down and will kill you if you circumvent that.
  • Etc.

Don't mix work and home tools, even if it means buying a whole 'nother set yourself and letting the "free" one sit unused.

I use 3 IPhone in my stream. After installing IOS 18 on one phone (IPhone 14 Pro Max), it's video became very laggy. Uninstalling and reinstalling DroidCam not help. 2 phone with IOS 17 works well. Has anyone else problems with IOS 18?

Hello, I recently purchased the pro version of Droidcam, but I noticed that the colors appear very washed out. I am attaching a screenshot from the app interface, as well as a picture taken by the same camera with default settings. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions, thanks in advance! The quality is the same via wifi or USB connection.

Thought I'd also mention, changes to white balance didn't fix.

Hey @BlueBob , droidcam does not do any sort of color correction. Does everything look more correct if you open the regular camera app on your phone?

Generally there is no reason for the system to provide different inputs to DroidCam versus the Camera app.
It could be some obscure setting like the Anti-Flicker option or the Noise Reduction option (found in DroidCams settings), or it could be the capture FPS.

Thanks for your response! It does look more colourful on the regular camera app, I'll mess around with my flicker settings to see if that's the cause. Regardless of if it works out I'm happy to support the app!

@dev47 After a 5-6 month break, I tried using my iPhone as a camera again with the DroidCam app, but I couldn't get it to work. I have the full version of the app and use an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both the app on my phone and the Windows application are up to date. I also downloaded the plugin for OBS, but it doesn't recognize my phone via USB at all. I tried different ports and cables. It works over Wi-Fi, but my internet isn't great. My computer recognizes the phone via USB, but DroidCam does not. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi @Saye could you share your OBS log with the DroidCam USB detection not working. Be sure to install the Plugin with "Apple USB Support" enabled.

@dev47 Hey! Thank you for your quick response. Actually, the problem is not just related to the OBS plugin. The DroidCam Client program on Windows also fails to recognize my phone. In the 'Add a device' section, it only detects my phone over Wi-Fi as 'iPhone [WIFI] (WiFi IP)', but the USB option does not appear. In the previous version of the app, it showed 'no device detected'. I hoped the new version would resolve this, but the issue persists. I also tried the OBS plugin version, but it didn’t work either. And yes, Apple USB Support was selected during the plugin installation.

@dev47 After all my attempts, I finally managed to solve the problem. I downloaded the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store, and after opening it while my phone was connected via USB, the issue was resolved. Anyone experiencing a similar problem should give it a try.

Hi @Saye thanks for following up with the solution you found.
I will make a note to check out the Apple Devices app and add it to USB setup guide.
