Help! I recently installed OBS on my new PC and I also download composite blur, but whenever I try to blur the background by inverting the mask it just doesn't work. Could you please help?
Hi @Phoenix_025Just anupdate:
After a little bit of testing, I have managed to get it working, but its not ideal.
e.g If i have Blur A and Blur B on the same scene. Then It would forget the Keybindings or set them all to the first one for all of them meaning If Blur A was Key t and Blur B was key u, then after a restart they would all be t or they would be forgotten.
However to get around this, If you
Blur A on scene 1 Key 1 and Blur 2 on Source 1 Key 2 and Blur 3 on Source 2 Key 3
Then and only then will it remember the previous keybinds and not overwrite the old ones.
This release includes the following bugfixes:
It also includes the following new features:
- Fixes a bug where sources used for blur masks would not properly load upon relaunching OBS.
- Updates the zh-CN localization files with new fields added in 1.5.0
- Adds move transition filter transition support (thanks @Exeldro)
I've not seen an issue like this before. Can you please post a log file link so I can see what is being loaded? To do so, restart OBS (so the log is fresh), then go to `Help` --> `Log Files` --> `Upload Current Log File` and then post the URL that it gives you. This will help me to troubleshoot/figure out what might be happening. This plugin is not working for me. I can see it in the filters but when I add it, it just makes my source disappear and the preview window is simply a blue square. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but it is not working on any source I try it with.

Correct. Being an experimental renderer, not all shader features have yet been implemented, and it seems that Composite Blur (along with most of my other plugins) are using features that are not yet compatible. I fully plan on supporting metal, though I can't guarantee anything until the renderer is finalized (in a future OBS version). At present, this plugin doesn't work at all with the Experimental Metal Renderer on OBS 32.0 (still seems to work fine with OpenGL renderer). If I have add it to a source and make the filter visible, then the source becomes invisible seemingly regardless of the filter settings. Any chance it might be updated to work with Metal?
Ashmanix's blur filter plugin works on Metal if set to "Box Blur" or "Simple Gaussian Blur", but not when set to "Fast Gaussian Blur", in case that context helps at all.
