Advanced Recording Settings Guide

This guide provides baseline settings to effectively match the Simple output mode presets for each encoder. While Simple output mode is generally recommended for its ease of use, this guide is particularly useful for those situations where more precise adjustments are necessary beyond what Simple mode offers.

NVENC

  • Rate Control: CQP
  • CQ Level: 16-23 (Lower CQ level will result in higher quality and larger file sizes)
  • Keyframe Interval: 2
  • Preset: P5
  • Tuning: High Quality
  • Multipass: Two Passes (Quarter Resolution)
  • Look-ahead: Off
  • Psycho Visual Tuning: On
  • Max B-frames: 2

  • Rate Control: CRF
  • CRF: 16-23 (Lower CRF will result in higher quality and larger file sizes)

  • CPU Usage Preset: veryfast
  • Profile: High
  • Tune: (None)

AMD

Quicksync
