Why does OBS 31 crash every time I connect my Avermedia capture card?

Hi guys,

I'm getting crazy so I decided to ask for help here. I have a PC that runs on Windows 11 and a few days ago, it received the Windows 11 version 24H2 update. From that moment, whenever I plug in one of my two Avermedia capture cards (GC553 or Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus - 4K) OBS instantly crashes.

So I tried to come back to the previous Windows update and everything was back to normal except Streamerbot from which I couldn't use the chat anymore. :/ As a result, I reinstalled the latest Win 11 update and its drawback...

I updated the firmware of the GC553 - my main capture card - but it did nothing. OBS crashes every time the USB cable is plugged in.

What can I do? Help me, please.

Friendly.

NB: Here are my log files :

According to the crashlog "vertical-canvas.dll", to whatever plugin this belongs.
Crashlogs are ascii textfiles. Just load it into any text editor, for example notepad, and see yourself.

I removed the 2 Aitum plug-ins and nothing changed. Anyway, the problem remains even when I use the OBS safe mode, yet the plug-ins and scripts are supposed not to run. So the issue is elsewhere.

Sorry, but I don't understand what issue it is you still have. In your OP, you reported crash issues. You removed the plugin causing the crashes. Either now you still have crashes, then you also have new crash logs to post, or you now have a completely different issue you didn't describe yet.

In my opinion, the only issue I have is to have updated the latest major version of Windows 11. If you check this topic, you'll discover info I found about the drawbacks of the Win 11 24h2 update. That shit brought a lot of issues, especially for those who have old-gen graphic cards like me.

If the Windows 11 24H2 update would result in your crash, it would do this for everyone and the forum would be full with it. But the forum isn't full of it. It's not an issue for everyone with a webcam or with an Avermedia device in general. So it's something specific with your setup. May be in combination with an Avermedia device, so check with Avermedia if they know of any issue.

Hm. Ok, to shorten this I just googled "avermedia windows 11 24h2" and this is the Avermedia FAQ I found:

tl;dr: uninstall AVerMediaEngine and reboot.
