I have an unusual problem that just popped up. I recorded a stream of multiple desktop areas (see example video here, fast forward to 30 seconds in for multi-area setup
) (note, previous link is NOT an example of current problem) and had about a 1 second lag between whats happening on screen and mic audio. You can tell because my mic picks up game audio and as a result there's a noticeable echo that's about 1 second apart.
Feeling frustrated because its an almost ruined capture, I went to fix it using the mic delay option in the audio section of the setup. I recorded another sample video using the exact same game, exact same OBS settings, and exact same profile with some isolated audio cues to help me figure out exactly how long a delay I needed. But on THIS recording, the delay/echo was only about 0.1 seconds, and I have no earthly idea why one capture would have a mic/system sound delay of almost 1 second, and then the very next capture with the same everything would only delay by 0.1 seconds.
Has anyone else ever encountered this sort of thing and could help direct me on how to get a consistent setup that can be corrected?
EDIT: The only thing I could think that might have anything to do with this is that the first capture with the long echo is about an hour long, and my sample captures only about 30 seconds, but I couldn't tell you why that would cause this problem.
