Source Copy

Source Copy 0.3.0

Does source copy not copy filters that are used by target sources? I have a few sources with multiple filters and they don’t seem to be getting copied.
Thanks

I've been trying out this plugin, trying to wrap my head around it.

When I copy a source and paste within the same scene collection, it appears to work like a reference to the same source. If I remove a filter from the copy, it gets removed from the original. This doesn't happen when I copy the source to a different scene collection.

Am I understanding how this works correctly? And would there be a way to copy within the same collection without it acting like a reference but a true, separate copy?

Thanks for your work on this and other great plugins.

@StefenTower source copy is not made to create duplicates in a scene collection. You can use the copy functions build into OBS or source clone for that.
OK, thank you for helping me understand this. Keeping track of what's possible in terms of copying/pasting these things makes my head spin a bit. :)

Another incredible plugin, thank you very much Exeldro! Would you consider adding an option to save and load ALL scenes, sources, filters, etc., so you can basically back everything up with one click? This would be useful for folks with lots of scenes and whatnot.

Do you think it would be possible to add an option to save all filters for a given source at once? Would help a lot with backing up my audio chain.

Hi, @Exeldro -- I just installed v0.3.0 on Mac but the StreamUp utility reads it as being 0.2.6. I'm guessing it updated but whatever value the StreamUp util is looking at wasn't changed?

@Exeldro -- It was necessary to manually remove the old version of the plugin from /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/plugins to update the latest versions of Source Copy, Source Dock, and Draw.

I'm running MacOS 15.6.1 on an M3 Max machine.

Upgrading to 32.0.0 64Bit Windows 11, I had to uninstall source-copy (and scene-notes-dock), I reinstalled and updated the scene-notes-dock. Seems to be fine now. FYI.

So, the source plugin does the exact same thing as duplicate in OBS. It ties all the elements to each other. So, if I have a screen share, and I change the window being shared, it changes in both. What exactly is the purpose of source copy?
