PTZ Controls

PTZ Controls 0.18.2

Just today, this plugin fails to load. Was working this morning. unistalled and reinstalled and verified it's in the right location (c:\ProgramData\obs-studio\plugins\obs-ptz)

Hi - I would like to have my PELCO-D camera and VISCA (UART) camera on the same serial RS485 bus, let's call it COM1. Does PTZ-Controls separately try to open COM1 for PELCO-D and VISCA, or will it open COM1 once and send either instruction depending on which camera? The reason I ask is if I change the baud rate on the settings on the PELCO COM1 it doesn't show the same on the VISCA COM1.

Today I updated OBS from v31.0 to v32.1.2

I installed the latest version of PTZ Controls and now each time I start OBS (Windows 11), I get the following popup dialog:
"The following OBS plugins failed to load: obs-ptz - Please update or remove these plugins."

Problem is, the plugin loads and works just fine. All the controls work, it's listed under Docks just fine, and in the new Plugin Manager, it's listed and a check mark is next to it showing it's active.

Disabling it, restarting OBS, re-enabling it, rebooting, re-installing, etc... has no impact. OBS still pops that dialog at startup, even though everything is fine.

Any ideas?

I bet this has been answered already so apologies if I missed it. Our system is old and this is my first forum post so thanks for your patience! Our small church uses an Avipas 1080 camera whose movements we control via VISCA over TCP (port 1259) using the PTZ plugin buttons. Is there a way to control how much movement there is with each button press? We'd like finer granularity as it jumps too much currently. And is there a way to drag the camera rather than using the arrows? Thanks!

Possibility:
Check your User Manual and look for a "speed" setting to adjust in the camera settings.

As for "dragging" the camera, maybe a joystick controller?

Does the advanced settings give you the granular control?

Rigth click on the controls and use "ON SCREEN JOYSTICK"

Does that help?

When we go out to shows, I bring a few options, most of the younger crew prefer a game controller, like the Logitech G F310, the other crew like me prefer a joystick Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. both have extra granular control for our Sony and PTZoptics cameras

@yukon92, I will check this out when I get access to the system again - thanks!

I am not seeing any of the options that you mention. Right clicking on PTZ controls does nothing unless I want to modify a preset. And I do not see any Advance Settings option. Due to the age of our system we are running OBS 28.1.2 - perhaps the latest version contains these advance functions? Out Mac is very old so I cannot move to OBS 32.

I have set things to get email when someone replies to my post but that is not happening. I do think the notification bell count increases however. Tips?

@T-Halen - I am still trying to figure out how to change camera settings. I can login to the camera by using the IP address but only see some high level Audio, Video, Network configuration options - not all the detailed settings that show up in the manual. Depressing the Menu button on the remote while connected in this more does nothing. I will try to call Avipas when they open.

I did find the ability to change some video parameters in the menu options but nothing to do with PTZ controls.

I spoke with Avipas. When I connect to the terminal via the IP address if I select the Preview page it shows PTZ controls. Right underneath them is a horizontal slider bar with the default value set in the middle to 50. This controls the speed that the camera moves. When I use the arrow keys on this Preview screen the slider position does change the pan speed. BUT it does not change how fast things move on the OBS PTZ arrow keys. They move the camera much faster.
