hi there.
my OBS started to close during streaming, without any error.
I checked the crash report (here: https://bitl.to/4DHZ) - there are no errors there.
obs version 31.0.2

I can attach a log file. I don't know what's wrong.

1. Do the Critical and Warning things mentioned at https://obsproject.com/tools/analyzer?log_url=https://obsproject.com/logs/e7QamqCOQUn3RqYL
2. Make sure all 9 of your plugins are up-to-date and compatible with 31.0.2. If they are not, uninstall them.
3. If still having issues with up-to-date and compatible plugins, uninstall the remaining plugins.

If still having issues, post a new log. Just post the link to the log or analyzer, don't need a URL shortner for that.

Follow the link to the analyzer @ghobbes posted and read the information in it. Make sure to read all of it and fix any issues the analyzer suggest.
If you don't use any of the plugin, remove them. If you do use some of them, make sure are updated and compatible with the OBS version you're using. Consult in each plugin page on how to update/compatibility/ removing it.

I'm using all plugins and don't see the point of uninstalling them. since OBS started closing spontaneously. i didn't update obs and i didnt update plugins. im not good at logs, so i went to look in "event viewer" and there i found that the application is closing for the following reason:
"Failed application name: obs64.exe, version: 31.0.2.0, timestamp: 0x90c51006
Failed module name: avcodec-61.dll, version: 61.3.100.0, timestamp: 0x66e34c1c
"

theres my log:

You still haven't done anything the log analyzer suggests. You need to all those things first.

everything described here - https://bitl.to/4DHZ - makes no sense. i have this picture since 2022. and only plugins are added at the end of analyzer.
I'm not gonna disable hags, remove capture sources etc, as they have nothing to do with it.
my problem is some file avcodec-61.dll and i have no idea what it is and what to.
If I don't get help for this problem here, I'll have to go to reddit or else.
but thanks for responding and trying.

I'm not gonna do it.

This most likely means that one of your media sources is crashing ffmpeg and taking OBS out. Why is it crashing? Not sure, we've seen an uptick in these reports and there may be an issue with ffmpeg which is a dependency OBS uses. My recommended solution at the moment while we still research these would be to install VLC and swap your media sources over to VLC sources instead. I know it will be a bit annoying since you have a few of them but it is the best I have at the moment.

Cant i just download something and update it with ffmpeg?
I just don't want to deal with all this VLC stuff, especially since I don't know how to do it.

No, but there isn't much to understand with VLC. You just install it and then in OBS you will have a "VLC source" which works mostly the same as a media source.

After installing VLC player you have to restart OBS if it wasn't close previously.
You still need to fix the other issues so OBS is working correctly and provide a new log file after that. It's up to you to make OBS work as expected.

The log analyzer isn't really some generic "you must fix all these things" tool. It is meant to point in the right direction of what might be going on when an issue pops up but nothing on there is related to the crashes they are asking about.

I know. I was just pointing this because the OP refuse to check on the plugins. The most common cause on close are a failure on the GPU driver / GPU itself or a plugin (the avcodec-61.dll mentioned related to issues with aitum plugin in some cases). He also claimed there's no errors on the log file, but on the analyzer you can see some thing to take a look at, and all the websocket errors at the end.
In my experience almost all this kind of issues resolve checking plugin updates and compatibility. Most people reinstall a previous version of OBS because they use the installed plugins. Others remove the plugins because they don't really use them.
And generally HAGS do cause issues.

I don't refuse to check them, if we are talking about aitum multistream in this case, it is updated, and removing it (even if it turns out to be problematic) makes no sense, because without it I have nowhere to stream.
That's why I'm wondering if it can be fixed by downloading some dll libraries or something like that.
I won't disable hags either, because without it I can't use DLSS FG (and other FG-soft) in games.

Hm yeah, still showing that VLC is not installed that is why you're not seeing the source.

Code:
03:02:24.532: [vlc-video]: Couldn't find VLC installation, VLC video source disabled

Just to confirm you've done the right thing here, you'll want to download this and run it once it downloads to install it

You shouldn't change the path that it is installed to at all.

and besides that, what about ffmpeg? should i just wait for a fix? i just have quite a few sources that i have to redo every time, rescaling, cropping, add filters, etc. i really don't want to do that. but the OBS keeps just closing still
