Question / Help Issues With Footage; Visual Quality

I downloaded OBS to record Minecraft footage, as I heard from many people that it'd give me better frames and smaller file size than FRAPS, along with the same sort of clear footage. I tinkered with some settings that were supposedly supposed to make my footage come out clear as I'd like, however, the results are not favorable.

When I record, while I do indeed get higher frames than with FRAPS, the frames stutter a little. It's noticable, it isn't smooth. Also, the footage ends up being very blurry and shows the stuttering, too.

Please, inform me and what to do to improve quality; this program has done miracles for others, I'd love to see it do the same for me. :)

1) Go to Settings > Broadcast Settings and check "Save to file"
2) Click Browse and navigate to the desired location
3) Enter a file name, or enter % to have the files named automatically
4) Click Save.

If you do not stream, set Mode to "File Output Only" and follow this guide - https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/
This, sadly, hasn't resolved my issues. My OBS is already set to what you list off from step 1-4, and I even tried the settings on that guide you linked to. The recording still is blurry and stutters, and whilst recording, I'm still receiving stutter.

That is not a complete log. Can you start OBS, do a test recording for a few minutes, restart OBS, and post your last log?

That should produce a pretty high quality video. I don't see anything wrong with the log. Can you post an example video or screenshot that demonstrates the problem?

It would actually be better if you could upload the original footage, since YouTube re-encodes the video, thus making it not representative of the actual video itself.

I put both pieces of Footage in Vegas and rendered them out the exact same. This gives the general idea of the issue, no? This footage I've presented gives proof of my issue, right? I've heard uploading raw footage can be glitchy or take much longer than wanted...

The point is that I want to see the original footage in order to see if it is the quality that should be expected from your settings, or if there is something unusual with it. I can't get that from YouTube since YouTube re-encodes video.

You can't really compare FRAPS and x264 output. FRAPS is raw video capture, and x264 encodes the video, so it's not a valid comparison to make.

Alright. So, by uploading the "original footage", you don't want me to upload to Youtube, right? How do I get it to you?

Thanks, that's perfect.

As far as I can tell, you did everything right, though I'm surprised x264 didn't put more bit rate into this, since you had the buffer at 0.

Try disabling the custom buffer and set the bit rate to something like 20000 and see how that looks instead.

Well, it seems fairly blurry, and I'm still noticing this slight stuttering.

Alright, then try going back to the 0 buffer and lower the crf to 15 and see how that goes.

What does "sluggish buffer" mean? What is wrong with the video you posted to Dropbox? The quality is excellent and playback is perfectly smooth. Don't watch it on the Dropbox website or it won't look as good and won't play as smoothly. Open the original file in a real media player like VLC or MPC-HC.
