Input Overlay

Input Overlay v5.0.5

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is it possible to remap keys on this plugin? For example, if I press my C key on my actual keyboard, can I have the plugin set to show up as the input being the Spacebar, or something like that? Thanks in advance!

It seems that no one is making the controller layout for the DualSense Edge, so I had to made one myself (with working touchpad click, FN and rear buttons input).

Not sure if I should upload the overlay template here in the forum.

could someone tell me why the left joystick is offcenter? im using the preset includes in the obs overlay, not matter what xbox presetn json file i use the leftstick is off center

idk if your still looking at these, but is there a way to get custom keys added that weren't normally in any of the textures? im trying to make an up arrow for gd reasons but there isn't any way for me to make the actual up arrow without combinding a bunch of textures to the point it doesnt look good at all

I made one in a pixel art style for myself. It's designed for use with an adapter that interprets the c-buttons as the right analog stick, and it requires chroma keying out the black background if you want to use it as an overlay.View attachment 115088
How did you map an analog stick onto a d-pad (the c-buttons)? I can't find any options in io-cct, nor any info in any docs, and it seems like this preset doesn't work anymore so I've not been able to figure it out myself. I'm trying to do the same sort of thing in my own overlay.

Hey everyone,

I'm on Arch trying to set up an overlay for my Haute42 U16 controller but the plugin won't register any inputs from there.
I downloaded the Linux zip and installed the plugin manually, it shows up in OBS and seems to work generally, it just doesn't recognise any inputs from my controller.
The configuration tool (https://univrsal.github.io/input-overlay/cct/) also doesn't register any input from my controller with the Record Keycode function.
So I used evtest to figure out the keycodes for my buttons, converted them to hexcode and manually assigned the keycode. But still, either no button press is registered or the display doesn't show the pressed state, I can't tell.

The controller is generally registered by the system, Steam sees it and evtest sees the controller as well as /dev/input/event16 and I can see the inputs coming in. Just the plugin doesn't see the controller.

Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT:
When trying out the hitbox preset 2 buttons actually are registered L2 and R2, which evtest tells me are the codes 2 and 5 respectively.
So the plugin generally is recieving something from the device but the codes are maybe off, I don't know.
Looking at the json from the hitbox preset I see that these 2 buttons are configured as a "type: 6", which seems to be Analog Stick if I see that right. Don't know why that does register, but it does.

I got It working now. I figured that the "gamepad" preset was registering all the buttons I need, so I took notes of their respective keycodes and types and used theses in my controller layout.
I don't know where these working keycodes come from, but it works now and that is all I care about for now.
