Help me figure out how to connect a mini DV camera to OBS as a webcam.
My setup: Espada PCIe 1394a ver.2 expansion card — cable into the DV connector on the camera. Drivers for Windows 11 installed automatically; the camera in recording mode works fine in winDV and Ama Rec TV.
After that, I'm stuck. In OBS, the video source doesn't appear. I can capture the app window and crop out the interface, but over time the camera goes into demo mode and then falls asleep entirely.
That's where I gave up. I've racked my brain, but got nowhere. Google, YouTube doesn't help, tried troubleshooting with Claude — just hallucinations.
All I found is using a video capture card. I have a Ugreen CM716, but it's a different interface — I'd need the right cables, adapters, all that stuff. At this point I'm worried there might be delays.
