Game dialogue records perfectly, but all sound effects and music are completely absent from the recording. The OBS audio meter doesn't move at all for effects, so the audio never reaches OBS in the first place.
Already ruled out: two different games, a brand new replacement 4K X, a full clean OBS reinstall, a downgrade to 31.1.0, PS5 set to Linear PCM stereo with HDCP and 3D Audio off, the Chat Link analogue path, MOTU interface unplugged, all sample rates at 48 kHz, both mono and stereo channel settings, and separate tracks verified in Premiere.
Crucially, Elgato's own Studio software records everything correctly on the same hardware. Only OBS loses the effects.
Virtual audio devices on the system: BlackHole 2ch, MOTIV Mix Virtual, MOTU UltraLite-mk4.
