Could you update Captions please? The latest OBS update broke mine. I know updating was my first mistake. The captions worked great when it was operational! Even though you said the cussing censorship was unreliable it always caught my cuss words

I also had a fairly old version of the plugin (since the developer didn't add update information to the obsproject.com site), but since everything worked, I wasn't worried. However, after upgrading to OBS v32, the plugin stopped working and had to look for solutions.

I can confirm that the combination of OBS Studio 32.0.1 + OBS Closed Captioning Plugin 0.33 (this is the latest version of the plugin presented on the developer’s page on github.com) works properly and fully on Windows 10.

So, if OBS v32.0.1 users have problems using this plugin, the problem is somewhere else. You are either using an old version of the plugin, or you have conflicts with other plugins/scripts, or your installation of OBS itself is corrupted. Or something else like that.

You can verify that the latest version of the plugin (0.33) is working properly by disabling all other plugins.

If the plugin was faulty, it wouldn't work for anyone at all. So look for the reason on your side. Firewall restrictions, corruption of operating system files, conflicting software, etc. But first, check your settings in OBS again (whether the microphone is working at all, whether the correct device is selected, whether the Internet connection is stable, etc.): even people with extensive experience can sometimes accidentally make a simple mistake.

checked all that. in the screenshots you can see the mic work in obs. have the same one selected on the plugin. tried it with firewall of and on. obs is in admin mode. even tried other mics like the one in my headset. i use wavelink but without that it still doesnt work. checked my files and nothing seems corrupted

Yes, I saw your screenshots that day and didn’t notice anything unusual there (I even compared it with my settings), I just suggested that you double-check it again, just in case. This is all the more surprising; If I were you, if possible, I would try to test the plugin on another computer. If it doesn’t work there either, it means you’re doing something wrong; if everything is fine on another computer, perhaps there is some special case of specific incompatibility with your equipment. It would be worth contacting the plugin developer in this case, I think he would also be interested in making sure his plugin works anywhere and everywhere.

Something like that.
Good luck finding a solution to this mystery.

So everything works for your friend, but not for you? Well, at least now you yourself know that the problem is in your hardware or software. Search. Try checking and restoring the integrity of system files:
Code:
sfc /scannow
in the command line as an administrator. And after then there is a huge field for work...

Well, if you continue your search, then step-by-step changes in the components will help you narrow down your search:
• try to create a new profile and a new collection of OBS scenes from scratch;
• try checking the functionality of the plugin on OBS in portable mode;
• update video card drivers;
• make sure that all current Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) libraries are installed (AI considers this the most likely reason).

new profile from scratch doesnt work.
protable mode id test it but i have no way to test it (Dont have a 2nd pc or laptop nor do i know someone near me to test it with)
card drivers are up to date and the libraries seem up to date. tried to reinstall the last version but GCC still doesnt work

I've never used OBS in portable mode, but the point of this option is that it allows you to essentially create a separate installation of OBS on the same computer. That is, you can have two separate OBS installations on one computer at the same time, even of the same version (check out the information).

In your case, this is a way to check a slightly different scheme of operation of software and equipment; each such change allows you to “test” the configuration slightly differently, which gives the potential to get closer to the source of the problem.

Look for opportunities to apply any different variations to perhaps get to the root of the problem sooner or later. Try to come up with something else. I don’t know, well, for example, change the RAM strips, or something else that is available to you. Searching and browsing is now completely in your hands.

Although, of course, there is still a possibility that this plugin will simply fundamentally not work on your computer )))
Let me digress. I had such a case with a video card that did not want to turn on on one motherboard, although according to its technical characteristics it was completely compatible with it. I tried all the variations, but in the end I took the system unit to the service center, hoping that with their equipment they would be able to identify the problem. As a result, it turned out that both the video card and the motherboard were working and fully compatible, but this particular instance of the video card simply did not want to work with this particular instance of the motherboard. The guys said: “Apparently, this is just a one in a million case.” By the way, they didn’t charge me )) (but I was even more pleased that the problem wasn’t with me after all: because I considered myself qualified enough to independently assemble system units, change thermal paste, etc. — I didn't want to change my mind about this).

So this could be the case.
Perhaps in this case you can sell your computer at a good price to OBS developers for research )))

PS. If it's not difficult, let me know the results you get. Good luck!
