I recently changed my Wii U's resolution to 720p, which is the only way most capture cards are able to record it in 60fps, but as a result, I have this issue where the audio becomes gradually more and more delayed as I keep it on. This issue wasn't present when I had the console at 1080p and doesn't exist with other consoles like a Switch. I use a EVGA XR1 Lite.
This example is using Windows' "Listen to this device" feature instead of OBS, where no delay is present, which is what makes me think this is an OBS-related issue. This example is using audio monitoring on OBS, where a large delay is very clear. Another note is that this issue doesn't seem to happen on recordings/streams/replay buffer, it only exists when monitoring.
Is there any way to fix this that doesn't involve new hardware or going back to 30fps?
