My camera will frequently freeze at random intermittent times accompanied by the windows usb unplug sound. The only way I can get it to unfreeze is if I de/reactivate it, change some setting that resets the properties, or something similar. Sometimes my cam will go a while without freezing, and other times it freezes two seconds after I reactivate it over and over again. It's infuriating. I know my cam isn't the issue because it works everywhere else. I've tried un/reinstalling the device, un/reinstalling drivers, different usb ports, un/reinstalling obs, changing all of the camera source properties, and all the other "have you tried turning it off and on again" solutions out there.

This is a log where it happened three times in a row immediately after opening obs. I don't even have to try to replicate it anymore.

pc specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.59 GHz
ASRock B550M-HDV Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
MSI GAMING X Radeon RX 570 4 GB Video Card
Thermaltake Smart 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
The cam is a Fuvision T3 https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Computers-Conference-Recording-Streaming/dp/B086HCBYGF

This would not be an issue with OBS, the camera freezing just sounds like the result of an underlying issue with the camera/drivers/USB.

Again, I know that the camera/driver/usb is not the issue because the camera works everywhere else, I've un/reinstalled drivers, and have tried using many different usb ports.

This does not change that you are hearing the USB connect/disconnect sound when this happens in Windows, this means the freeze is OBS is the result of some other issue and not the problem itself.

The point I am making is that OBS cannot cause your camera to disconnect/reconnect from your PC but your camera disconnecting/reconnecting can cause it to freeze in OBS. If it were not disconnecting entirely in Windows it would be a different story but that is what is happening, that is why you hear the USB sound.

My camera doesn’t disconnect anywhere else. OBS is the only variable. You can try and tell me otherwise, but unless you can actually tell me why, please stop commenting on this thread. I’d rather wait to hear something helpful and useful. Thank you for your time.

Heh that is a bit rude, but what you are saying is not accurate. I do not know exactly why although I listed a few things (device itself, drivers, USB) that would likely be the cause and OBS would 100% not.

Your own message here states that it is not only disconnecting in OBS. The USB unplug sound is not OBS, that is from Windows when a device disconnects. I would like to clarify that I am not guessing here, I am telling you with total certainty that it is the disconnect in Windows causing the camera to freeze in OBS, not the other way around as one is possible and one is impossible.

I apologize for being rude, however, I’m telling you with 100% certainty that OBS is causing the disconnection. This issue does not happen anywhere else, only in OBS, meaning something about OBS is causing this, even if not directly with the camera. Telling me the issue is something that I’ve already thoroughly checked for is not helpful.
