You need to run OBS on the Intel GPU to use display capture.

I have the same issue, I read the above post on black screen when capturing but it didn't contain instructions on how to resolve. I am running windows 10, intel corei5 8th gen. I don't know how to access the GPU to update - please advise.

You need to disable hardware acceleration in chrome in order to be able to window capture it.
 
This problem started up newly for me, presumably after OBS updated itself. An older version I was running could capture Chrome browser screens with no issues. Since the update, all my browser windows and some other programs like VLC are black. Seems to be a bug introduced in the latest version of OBS.
 
What I've noticed is that if I capture the entire desktop, the browsers are visible. If I window capture just a browser, it is black.
