Question / Help black screen during game capture

well, I've searched for different solutions of this problem like setting integrated graphics in NVIDIA 3D settings, running OBS as an administrator and so and so further, but still it didn't help. to see it more clearly, there are some screenshots:

while adding new game capture source there's the red square in the top left of the preview section, the mode of capturing doesn't matter. however, the display capture and window capture both work well:

the problem appeared unexpectedly 'cause the problem had worked properly like few hours before that? have no idea would it help or not, but it occurred while I was trying to set Photoshop CC and Windows' Cinema&Films capturing using game capture source in 'Capture specific window' mode.
still, I'm not a pro in this topic at all so, please, just tell me which info would be useful for the solution of this mess (if it's fixable in general) and I'll send it immediately

Not every application works with game capture.

17:51:28.947: Windows Version: 10.0 Build 17134 (revision: 829; 64-bit)

Windows is very outdated. You should update.

To run a display capture, you have to be running on Intel, like you are.

To game capture an app running on the Nvidia card, OBS must be running on the Nvidia card.

However, even if you have it set up that way, there are some applications that can't be captured. I'm not aware if this is the case or not for Photoshop or Cinema&Films, although I imagine the latter also has DRM preventing capture.

I was surprised with the fact of having such an outdated version of Windows on a brand-new laptop and receiving no notifications about updates, thank you a lot for mentioning that.

unfortunately, after updating the system and checking all cards connected stuff OBS isn't capturing any apps either. it is now a kind of a real mystery why, because I'd reached the needed result once, so I know that capturing is definitely possible.
Photoshop has that preventing Window capture feature in indeed, and however, the Game capture is the way out; Movies & TV (I'm sorry for calling this app wrong earlier) could be shown through Game but not through Window one.

here's a log file from this time in case there are any another hypothetical solutions.

thank you once more.

Is that logfile from after the update or before? Because it shows WIndows has the same version number as before:

oh, I searched for more info and it seems that my version of Windows (Home one) doesn't allow to update it for the latest build until an end-of-service date shown, but the system was updated in th last hour and, as it seems to me, it was just a version of it what I haven't noticed (what a person).

you think the problem's origin lies in old OS build, aren't you?

I don't know, it's just that there's no other obvious reason for the problem.

Game capture is unable to capture ANY application? It's not at all unusual for certain apps to be incompatible with game capture.

it's unable to capture any. like, even games exactly. just tried to capture different apps, including The Sims 4 (so, the game) and it showed no result in the same way as in the screenshots above. still, capturing them all with Window capture works great

Ok, I'm dumb.

OBS is running on the Intel GPU. In order to use game capture, it needs to be running on the Nvidia card, because that's almost certainly the card your games are running on.

I've changed preferred graphic processor for OBS to NVIDIA but it made no difference

That won't fix capturing Photoshop but it should fix anything else, as long as those apps are also running on Nvidia and can be captured. Not everything can.

If you can't use game capture and have to use Display capture, then you'll have to set OBS back to the integrated GPU.

It looks like the only way to window or game capture Photoshop was to turn off Aero, and this is no longer an option:

well, I think I don't really need like a full amount of options OBS could offer, so using just Display capture may be the best way for me (and the simplest one tho). thanks for your time!
