Everything else seems great other than about 20-30 mins in streaming the game audio goes out of sync with the game by about 1-2 seconds, the only way to fix it is to restart the stream untill it happens again,at this point i feel like ive tried everything to fix it but its still happening any ideas ?

Re: audio problems,desync ?

Ok. You need to edit your post a bit.

What game are you playing?
How are you capturing it?
PC? Console?
Capture card?

We need more info to help you. "My game doesnt work. Make it work" is helpful.

its pretty much every game i play tbh its just more noticble with some games sooner than others,im using the evermedia live gamer portable as the capture card on xbox 360 but it also happens on ps3,pc quad core 2.5ghz amd radeon hd 8400,the only thing left im not 100% sure on is my max bit rate and buffer size i did hear somewhere that can cause the audio delay but not sure

Re: audio problems,desync ?

if you're using the live gamer portable, make sure that "use buffering" is enabled if you're using it directly with OBS (they must have updated their drivers recently to add decoding)

This has started happening to me too recently (using the same capture card). So am I just supposed to check "use buffering" and then keep the number next to that at 0?

Yes, if you have desyncs with both the audio and video coming from the capture device, you need to turn on "use buffering" (at 0 is fine)

It's in the source properties.

Still desyncs for me after enabling it by the way. I think this started happening after I updated OBS recently btw so it might be that update?

Edit: Checking/unchecking the source fixes the issue as well so you don't have to restart the stream. Still not optimal though, and it ends the local recording from LGP stream engine as well.

Found it and ahh dang it still happens ?! weird thing is i think its been doing it for me ever since i started streaming tbh was just constantly wondering if it was an obs issue or something on our end like set up,capture card ect

I've definitely done streams with this capture card where it didn't happen and if you record on the stream engine, that recording will be fine so i'm assuming it's either on OBS or twitch's end.

It did however happen after a day where I had trouble with getting my ps3 to work (appearently hdmi input from the ps3 does not work on this card...) which made me update the stream engine and possibly change some settings too in confusion. So I guess something might've happened there too. (already downgraded the stream engine again)

ohh right ok yer still having the same problems on my end, only thing left to try is a differant program like xsplit but who knows, let me know if you discover anything and ill do the same :)

Re: audio problems,desync ?

I had this problem yesterday too. I have use buffer checked on my Live gamer portable, cast desynced after a while. I stream at 60 fps, and in the properties for the Live gamer portable it says 60.0002 for the frame rate. Over time I don't know if that would make it desync?

Thats the problem none of us know what could be causing it yet lol, usually mine desyncs at the 25 min mark very slowly like under a second then if i dont restart it will just get worse like from under a second to a second and so on

Re: audio problems,desync ?

Make sure that you're specific about what exactly is desyncing with what, and what is coming before or after what. For example, "the LGP's audio and video is going out of sync, after about 25 minutes the audio comes a quarter of a second after the video" would be an ideal way of being specific about it. There are also other things like webcams, mics, and you need to be specific about what all you're trying to get in sync as well.

Also technically it really shouldn't happen for its own audio/video if "use buffering" is on because that option specifically times the audio exactly to the timing of the device.. though it's not impossible depending on how it outputs audio. Hm, I have also heard that resampling can sometimes cause issues with this - could you guys try try changing the audio sample rate in OBS' audio settings to match that of the device? or, if you're at 48khz for example, could you try 44.1khz and see if that changes anything?

Re: audio problems,desync ?

Basically no matter the combination of use buffer, then in advanced I've tried combinations of raising the scene buffer to 700, setting mic fix, using mic timestamps, and I've also tried force desktop audio to use video timestamps for mic. Anyway I try using LGP stream engine with OBS, but the game audio is fine at the beginning of the stream but then an hour or 2 into a stream my game audio starts to lag behind what is actually being shown on screen. game sound happens 1-2 seconds later than it should. Is this a problem with LGP stream engine or Open broadcaster?

EDIT
I'll try the 44.1 KHZaudio tomorrow.

I've been running 2 hour tests trying to fix it. Hope it's that easy of a fix.

Re: audio problems,desync ?

I already tried tweaking around with the audio bitrates to make it match (it actually did not match when it worked for me)
I'm gonna try with the version of OBS I used before this happened and see if it changes anything. Otherwise i'll look into the audio settings you suggested :)

Edit: Neither older version of OBS or changing to 44.1 khz seems to fix it for me. Audio still ends up being behind after a while :(

Re: audio problems,desync ?

Hm, thank you for letting me know, everyone. If it is a problem with OBS (I think it might be in this case), then I think I have a suspicion of what the problem *might* be, but it's a difficult problem to solve at this moment due to the design of the code. The rewrite of the application will solve most of these audio design flaws but I would feel sort of bad asking you guys to wait for it, so if I can determine that it's the problem that I think it is, I'll attempt to make at least a workaround option (similar to mic sync fix in advanced) to fix it if I can. If I can't though, you guys might have to end up waiting for a usable version of the rewrite.

Re: audio problems,desync ?

I managed to get a stream go for an hour thirty minutes without issues after changing some settings. Last changes I did (that I remember at least) was enabling "Force desktop audio to use video timestamps" in the advanced settings and going back to 30fps (it was back when it originally worked too) since the game I currently play is only 30fps and should probably be streamed as such anyway.

First thing I don't know if should do anything and I thought I had done the second one before so idk. I'll report back if I get problems again of course, but right now it seems the problem indeed might be the 60.002 fps thing. Still the local recording was fine with the 60fps so it might be an OBS issue anyway.

Sounds good that you have an idea of what the problem might be :)

Edit: You should be able to see the difference in the last 2 past broadcasts here if you just take a quick look at the synchronization at the beginning and at the end: http://www.twitch.tv/stelzig/profile/pastBroadcasts
