60FPS stream stuttering with 165Hz gameplay

Hi there. I'm sure there is a straight forward answer to this, but I can't find one anywhere online. Essentially, I have a 165Hz monitor, and so play all my games in 150+ FPS. When I stream in 60FPS, there is visible stuttering on the stream output (the game runs fine for me though). However, when I cap the game's frame rate to 60FPS, the stream runs perfectly smooth. Of course this isn't ideal for me playing though as 60FPS isn't enjoyable when you are so used to high refresh rates. Is there a way around this in OBS or will I just have to put up with playing in 60FPS? Thanks.

Hey guys! Not sure if you found a solution yet, but I will go ahead and post my input on this just in case you haven't, and for those who stumble upon this in the future while researching. I will explain this as simply as possible.

60fps does not evenly divide into 165hz refresh. In order to get a smoother stream and capture, you need to set your refresh rate and fps to be able to divide into each other. So if you are wanting high gameplay fps while streaming at 60fps, you will need to either change your monitor refresh rate to 120hz, or cap your gameplay fps at 120fps.

Hope this helps, guys!

165 Hz / 3 = 55 FPS. I don't know, Twitch accepts all FPS below 60, I guess. I'm not sure about the experience on computers with 144 Hz or 60 Hz screens :)
And for 144 Hz, 48 FPS would be ok ..?

Yes, 48fps would be good for that, but using 48 isn't exactly common. Most either roll with 30 or 60 and if you want the smoothness from 60, you gotta make that slight sacrifice in the refresh. That's what I had to do, but the streams are golden. Makes me debate if I want to go up to a 240hz monitor. Haha!
