As a fun coincidence, the jump from Beam 0.9.7 to 0.9.8 also introduces the switch from .NET 7 to .NET 8, which has been released a few days ago and is now the latest LTS version. From now on it is used to compile Beam. The binary file size decreased significantly compared to before. Performance improvements could also be expected in theory, though there is no benchmarking done to test and verify this for this project.
