Source Record

Source Record 0.3.4

So as Sopel already said, I to like this plugin and I'm experiencing the same issue.
A while back I tested this feature to record multiple sources/scenes until it stopped working.
Anny help?
i really like this plugin, it used to work pretty well, now it isnt, for some reason its recording only the source record scene and anything else, it used to record 2 scenes but now when my pc has been restarted it doesnt work, does someone know why does that happen?
This plugin is good, and was sorely needed in OBS! Although, a few things are left to be ironed out.

-"Save Replay" shortcut resets to blank upon reloading the filter, either by activating/deactivating or due to a restart of OBS.
-If you try to remove the Source Record filter without disabling the buffer record, it crashes OBS.
-Source Record filter settings only update once you have turned the filter on and off.
-Replay buffer length can only be 100 seconds.

I really hope this plugin gets the extra bit of attention it needs to take it all the way to greatness, as it is nearly there!
Freaking amazing! I have dreamt about this for quite a while, only thing i can really say is i would love for the plugins replay buffer to have more time than just 100 seconds, i have a beefy dual pc setup so im not really worried about performance :D
So much potential! Excellent when it works, but been having lots of problems with footage being sped up, and audio not syncing up. To the point where source record is several seconds SHORTER than the original recording. Wondering if a fix will be available soon!
This is great, my only issue remains to be the fact that its really finicky at the start and I still cannot get it to fully work unfortunately.

The concept of recording sources is absolutely amazing for video editors and streamers, it essentially allows for you to have your cake (stream) and eat it to (remove the overlay and use it for videos).

Currently my main issue is that audio recorded is very glitchy and stutters consistently which means that this plugin just isn't personally viable but if you can get this working, it is great.

Best of luck, this is really good when it works.
Amazing plugin 5 stars
The idea behind this is incredible. This tool adds something that's severily lacking in OBS natively. Being able to record specific sources in various ways, enables both features such as dedicated recordings for post editing; or on the fly instant replays.

Unfortunately it is severely broken in a lot of aspects. For example it does not apply settings to your filter once the settings is applied. You have to turn the filter visibiltiy on and off. It also resets hotkeys every time you do that, or restart your OBS.

There's also an issue with it taking longer and longer to save a buffered footage, as your stream goes on - so it'll start with taking a second to save it - and 5 hours is it suddenly takes 22 seconds. (This goes back to 1 second if you hide/show the filter - which then resets your hotkeys).

It's a bit of a mess at the moment. Hopefully it'll improve once the developer finds time to take a look at it. Great idea, but still needs some work.
This plug-in great when it works, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for what I want it for.

I'm trying to use this to record my game footage while I stream so I can make clean YT vids with it, which means I need it to record hours of footage. But that doesn't happen.

I finish out the recording on OBS, the normal recording works but the source recording is a fraction of what it should be and waiting ages doesn't seem to fix it. Closing OBS comes up with a crash report and the source recording finishes with a fraction of the footage. I'm not really sure what's going on here, maybe I didn't wait for it save for long enough? But I dunno, I waited a while and the normal OBS recording was done so... The problem is there's no indication as to whether the source recording is still saving or whether it's frozen.

Until it becomes more reliable I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it :/. Which is a shame cause it really is such a useful plugin.
Works really well until it suddenly doesn't. These are my problems with it:
- No support for muxer settings, so I can't set "movflags=+frag_keyframe+empty_moov" like in OBS itself.
- Resolution switches in sources is not handled properly, if at all.
- Audio often just doesn't work even with the provided steps.
- Does not prevent itself from writing to the exact same file it may already be writing to.
- Does not apply defaults from an encoder to the UI, which results in horribly broken default settings.
This could be very cool. I'm having an issue where the audio does not record & every time I hit "stop recording" the cams will freeze, the audio claims to still be going through the meters & OBS is frozen as well. When I close force close OBS the files will have saved but, alas, no audio. I am using the newest version & can upload the log files if the creator of this would like to help out.
Was hoping to get a native mac compile
This is really not a selective recording replacement Streamlabs has, for anyone interested. And since there's all that dirty laundry being aired out about Streamlabs, I was hoping to find a good replacement for Streamlabs but this plug-in doesn't do enough to replace that and I'm forced to simply open two OBS instances for now which I've wanted to avoid.

Main problems:
- Crashing. It caused OBS to just suddenly become so incredibly unstable and I would have to toggle it off after I finished recording. Every time I would reopen OBS, it would crash instantly and trying to toggle off Source Record was a massive chore. It became such a hassle to fix this problem.
- Cannot record multiple sources at the same time at an acceptable quality. If you try to apply the filter over a group/folder of sources so you can just record them all, the video framerate drops and it looks so incredibly terrible. This is the biggest problem I have because I want to record more than one source at a time while still getting rid some other overlays.

Recording one source at a time is fine, and if you only need that then this plug-in works. But I can't recommend this plug-in at all if you want the same type of selective recording Streamlabs has, which is the biggest unironic positive over OBS and this plug-in. I'm willing to walk this all back if there are improvements, but I have never felt more frustration and anger at stuff not going right than now. I just hope there's an official implementation of selective recording some time in the future.
I am using version 0.2.6 now, but it has a problem!
OBS will not open if the plug-in is not closed after each use.
I must manually find the plug-in path and delete it.
OBS can run normally.
I saw this comment earlier so I copy & pasted it because I'm experiencing similar issues. Really interested to see if I'm doing anything wrong that might be causing this.

"I'm encountering a problem where the length of the recordings do not sync up. The original has the full duration, but the source recordings are both shorter. The footage looks sped up and the audio is desynced because of it. I've tried using Software encoder, as well as x264 encoder, with the exact same settings across all recordings, but nothing seems to fix the issue.

I also have been experiencing a similar issue when it comes to replay buffer recordings, as well as an odd bug where sometimes it will only capture 1 (or sometimes none) of the source recordings. The times it does capture all of them during replay buffer recordings, the duration of all of the recording are always completely different from each other."
Have been using this plugin for a while now to record my webcam and then my desktop separate but recently it seems to not want to record multiple sources into their own file. It will only record one source and seem to just ignore the other. Any suggesting on what the cause could be?
First off i would like to say thankyou for this plugin!

After doing some testing I would like to make a suggestion to pause the source recording when you pause the recording "Main", If the normal recording is paused the source recording keeps going in which can make de-syncing issues but overall thankyou for this plugin! hopefully you can integrate it into the main OBS Studio.
Really neat concept but doesn't work.

Great plugin, I do have an issue with recording a different audio source becoming delayed. Any idea what may cause this?
Awesome plugin, great work!
