Poltergeist: Remote Control Overlay, Alerts & Mod Tools

Semi-free Poltergeist: Remote Control Overlay, Alerts & Mod Tools

Tallies Can Now Fire Triggers

Trigger Studio has a new event: "Tally Reaches a Value". Pick a Tally (or all of them) and a target number, and the trigger fires the moment the count reaches it, counting up or down, whether it changed from dashboard clicks, chat commands, or another trigger.
  • Auto Reset: pair it with the "Reset a Tally" action on the same Tally to start a fresh round every time the target is hit.
  • Searchable Dropdowns: every dropdown in Trigger Studio now opens with a "Search…" entry, so you can type to find an event, action, asset, or chat command instead of scrolling.

Run Timers from Chat

Timers and Stopwatches can now be named in the new "Timer Chat Name" field of the properties panel, letting broadcasters and mods control them from chat with !timer [name] start/pause/reset.
  • Exact Counts: !counter [name] 999 sets a Tally straight to a value, next to the existing + and -.
  • Custom Start: the new "Start From (Seconds)" field makes a Stopwatch count up from any starting time.

Snap Back to the Default View

A new "⌖" button next to the LOCK on the bottom right of the canvas recentere your view, zooming out to fit the live, staging and spawn areas exactly like on a first visit.

Keep Part of the Canvas Off Stream

Add a "Hide Zone" from the left sidebar to mark a region of the canvas as off limits. Anything overlapping it is dropped from the overlay, so assets can still be moved in and out freely while staying invisible to your viewers.
  • Broadcaster Control: Only you and your head moderators can add, move, resize or delete a zone.
  • Sound Carries On: Video and Media Share keep playing their audio while covered, only the picture is hidden.
  • Four Shapes: Pick rectangle, ellipse, triangle or diamond.

Add a head moderator

Open "Permissions" under a moderator in the "Manage Mods" panel and tick "Head Mod". They can then invite moderators, remove them, and set their permissions for your channel from their own dashboard, so your roster keeps moving while you stream.
  • Yours to Grant: the box stays unticked even when a moderator has "All", so only you decide who gets it.
  • Same Panel: a head mod sees your "Manage Mods" panel with the current moderators and the pending invitations.
  • Kept in Check: a head mod cannot enable "Head Mod" for anyone, and cannot change or remove another head mod.

Read Your Channel Data From Anywhere

The new "External API" button in the tools column (channel owner only) generates a key that lets bots and stream tools read your channel as JSON, for example https://poltergeist.cc/api/v1/commands.
  • Show-Once Key: Shown only at generation, and regenerating replaces it instantly while revoking cuts all access.
  • Five Endpoints: /channel, /commands, /triggers, /events, and /variables, including cooldowns, usage counts, latest events, and live variable values.
  • Read-Only: A key reads only its own channel, and nothing can be triggered or changed from outside.

Live Predictions and Hype Trains on Your Overlay

Two new Twitch widgets: a "Prediction" asset, and a "Hype Train (Live Progress)" goal type on the "Progress Goal" asset.
  • Prediction Asset: Shows the running Channel Points Prediction with a bar per outcome and marks the winner.
  • Mod Controls: Start, lock, cancel, and resolve predictions from the properties panel (Interact permission).
  • Hype Train: The goal bar tracks the current level's progress and resets itself when the train ends.
Predictions need one new login to grant the new Twitch permission.

Every Asset On Your Canvas, One Click Away

The dashboard sidebar now includes a "Canvas Assets" panel that lists every asset on your canvas, grouped by layer, so you always know exactly what is live and where it sits. Click any entry to select the asset, switch to its layer, and jump straight to it.
  • Instant Search: Filter the list by asset name or type as you type.
  • Zone Badges: Each entry shows whether the asset is LIVE on the overlay, on the STAGE, or parked AWAY.
  • Click To Jump: Selecting an entry centres your view on the asset, even across layers.

Sign In With an Authenticator Code

Enterprise accounts now have a "2FA" link next to "PASSWORD" in the left sidebar. Set it up with any authenticator app, and an operator password on its own is no longer enough to reach a live dashboard.
  • App Setup: Scan the code in the "2FA" window, or type the Setup Key into apps that cannot scan.
  • Recovery Codes: Ten single-use codes are issued at setup for when the app is out of reach.
  • Organisation Control: Administrators can require two-factor on every seat and reset one when a device is lost.

Moderators Are Now Invite Based

Adding someone in "Manage Mods" now sends an invitation instead of granting access straight away, so a mistyped username never reaches a stranger.
  • Invite: enter a username and click "Add". The entry sits in the list marked "INVITED", and if the user exists a notification arrives on the dashboard.
  • Answer: invitations appear in the new "Moderator invitations" panel, ready to accept or decline. Unanswered invites expire after 24 hours.
Existing moderators keep access and permissions exactly as they are.
